First new car, first time Honda buyer. VERY happy. Absolutely love the space in the car. The technology is amazing. Do not have the DVD package, wanted kids to actually interact with me in the car :) LOVE the Honda Road Readers - can download books onto my iPhone and then using the bluetooth, we can all listen to stories. My favorite!

28,000 miles on 2016 AWD touring elite

I purchased my 2016 AWD touring elite in late July of 2015. In 8.5 months I have driven over 28,000 miles. I sold a 2011 Lexus LX 570 for the pilot. Same comfort and room but with better gas mileage, technology and price. Average 23 mpg in town and 28 mpg hwy Smooth ride Quite cabin Plenty of interior room with cup holders and power outlets everywhere. While the 9 speed transmission takes a little time to get use too it works as designed for saving fuel My only two issues-non folding side mirrors and the front windshield is a rock magnet as I have replace the front windshield 2x in the 8.5 months.

Disregard negative comments! Test it for yourself.

I am seeing a lot of negative comments but if you are expecting a Mercedes GLE for under $35000 then you are dreaming. I bought Pilot LX 2016 for my wife while we own a 2011 Toyota RAV4. And after driving Pilot I sold my RAV4 to buy another Pilot LX. Reasons are : 1)Same 22.5mpg on both even though Pilot is much bigger. 2) Pilot was much smoother and quite (in RAV4 we could not have a conversation in the highway especially with people on 2nd row). 3)Much more powerful and better pickup (my RAV4 was 4 cylinder; can't comment on RAV4 2011 6 cylinder). 4) When we make trips with friends we haul them in our 2 SUVs (3rd row is good enough for 2 people under 6ft or 3 kids; contrary to other SUVs with 3rd row where your head hits the top on each bump. There is no better SUV of same size and at same price in the market today!

Pleased except for the radio....

The touch screen with the steering wheel controls works well, once you figure them out, but I don't like not being able to tune the AM/FM/XM radio to a nonpreset. It is very cumbersome to change the station to a specific one, especially if the only option is screen touch, & can be dangerous when driving.

Honda Pilot is Elite!!

If you want the Elite Trim you will have to be patient and lucky. Some sales associates that need to make their numbers will push the lower trims. They may tell you there is not much difference in what you get. Do your home work and sit in one yourself. The Elite closes the gap with Acura MDX, Buick Enclave, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Lexus RX etc. You may read reviews that complain about the controls for the radio and navigation. There are some valid annoyances and you can get over them. (Volume can go crazy when switching between sources, i.e. Bluetooth to phone, Bluetooth to FM, iPod to radio.) So turn down your volume a little prior to switching sources.
