Best SUV on the market!

2016 Honda Pilot Elite 4dr SUV AWD w/Navigation and Rear Entertainment System (3.5L 6cyl 9A)

This is an amazing vehicle! It features a smooth, quiet ride with exceptional visibility. We've owned it since April - 14,000mi so far - two major road trips. It handles beautifully with gas mileage 24.7 overall. The 9-speed transmission is smooth and shifts flawlessly. We purchased the Elite to get all the electronic safety features we could - they all work beautifully. The vehicle is close to being able to drive itself! The fabulous GPS has guided us through 11 states without mistakes! The entertainment system performs well in all functionality including movies. After owning 4 vehicles from Lexus I can honestly say that this SUV is one of the great ones - nice job HONDA!!!

Shocked by sleak size, handling, & Fuel Econ

I was compelled to review our Pilot after reading the Edmunds 778 mile outcomes. We have 2 small children, a teenager, and two working adults in our family. My husband, a full time student, drives the Pilot to and from class and for daycare pick up and drop off. We use the Pilot for long trips, regular visits to family 500 miles away. Our average fuel combined is MPG is 21.6 - our lifetime is 21.6. We get 28-29 on the highway. The test group for Edmunds obviously drive the car without any attempt to drive responsibly; sorry, but that's my thought. We use the Econ mode, but otherwise drive like reasonable adults with a car full of car seats, strollers, and family stuff. UPDATE: After almost three years with our Pilot and several 6+ hour road trips, we still love it. Mileage remains high, handling top notch. With three adults, two car seats, a dog, and luggage, we travel comfortably. We have just two main complaints: 1. Hand free Tech 2. Car seat space. 1. I find that the Bluetooth will sometimes fail to transfer a call properly to hands free mode, and the call must be ended and re-dialed. Other glitches arise with the hands free system that can only be resolved by turning the car off. These are occasional issues at this point. possibly a software problem that could be updated. I also wish that the stereo dial used for hands free mode were closer to the driver. One shouldn’t have to reach across to manipulate that menu while driving. 2. With two car seats, you must locate one behind the driver and one in the center or you cannot reach the third row because only the passenger side second row seat folds up for third row access. This limits options for families with tall adults (like my 6’4” spouse). If he drives, his seat mashes a rear-facing car seat and a forward facing toddler’s feet will be kicking the back of the driver’s seat. Our 4 year old cannot sit in the car seat behind him when he drives. I wish that there were more adjustability in the positioning of the second row seats to address taller people with young families (2 or more car seats). Overall, we love our car and look forward to driving it until our kids are grown.

So, I really like the ride, power, comfort and styling etc. The button controls are all fine but the MM electronic display is overly complicated and is at times senseless. I understand the issues of distracted driving and how manufacturers and laws are trying to mitigate this but...............not being able to enter an adress or use many Nav features while the car is in motion is absurd. One can use voice but this is not always practical. While it may not be a good idea for a diver to get to wrapped up entering an address underway why in the heck should they prevent a passenger from doing so. I mean it is a n 8 passenger vehicle not a 1 seater so it makes perfect sense to let someone access the Nav while driving. Another example is prohibiting any access to the sound controls for the audio. The only way you can adjust bass or treble, fade/balance is to put the car in park. Again, why the heck do they assume that only the driver is in the car with no passenger available to do these things. I have found the overall audion quality to be very poor and not what I expect at all. So there are some things that bug me for sure but with this said I love the vehicle as it is great in some many other ways.

I absolutely love my 2016 Honda Pilot ex-l

2016 Honda Pilot EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

I bought the 2016 Honda Pilot Ex-L AWD in white pearl with beige leather interior. I traded in my 2009 pilot Ex-L which had 71,000 miles for the 2016 model, and couldn't be happier. The car handles beautifully on the road and accelerates with ease (maybe too much ease, I really have to watch my speedometer!). It is a quiet, smooth ride compared to the 2009 model. The interior is gorgeous. I wasn't sure I'd like the beige leather, but it's a bit darker than I expected when I saw it in person and I loved it. The only complaint I have about the interior is the right arm rest for the driver is small. I was used to resting my entire arm on the big console in the 2009 pilot, and now it's a slim but moveable shadow of what it used to be. The center console lies deeper in between the two front seats making more room for setting your purse or phone down which is why they changed it probably. I have been reading about issues the infotainment center has been giving some people, but I have had no issues whatsoever. I enjoy being able to listen to music from my phone wirelessly and think the sound is great. The Bluetooth and phone system works fine as well with a great connection, I drove through a 1-mile tunnel today and my call never broke up. I have not bought the Honda link (Aha) app after reading the many unfavorable reviews, so I can't speak to that yet, but other than that the infotainment center works great. I don't find it complicated at all and I use the steering wheel controls for the radio, iPod or answering calls while driving so no need to fumbling with the touch screen endangering myself as some people have complained about. I also enjoy how the center screen below the speedometer which tells me the mileage, tire pressure, compass, etc., all super easy to go between using the steering wheel control. I have used the remote starter which is a nice added touch, especially on a cold day in the northeast when my car is outside. I can jump in and it's nice and toasty and ready to go. The storage space is great and the third row seems roomier than the 2009 pilot, though no one has utilized that seat for a trip yet. I absolutely love this vehicle and all the improvements Honda has made. This is my third pilot and by far the best. Good job Honda on making a beautiful, reliable, safe and fun vehicle. I look forward to driving in luxury for years to come.

2016 Honda Pilot EX-L 4dr SUV w/Honda Sensing (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

Hello, Extremely happy to own my PILOT 2016 EX-L with honda-sensing. It will complete 2 years in July 2017, as i am one of the early owners . Have about 28k mileage as of today, thoroughly enjoyed every second and minute of the ride with pride. AWD system seems to be one of the best as I could feel and see that the vehicle maintains same speed on uphill roads without changing gas pedal pressure, I could see most of the vehicles falling behind irrespective of the brand and AWD or FWD systems they may have, in summary the AWD system somehow manages the power distribution in efficient way which is treat to experience in real life driving. Not a single incidence of disruptive nature, always dependable. Again be yourself and go for what you like, this review in no way to influence anyone's decisions, just real experience.. with due respect to individual choices and all the brands. Purchased exl with honda sensing on 7/22 , currently have 3800 miles, super powerful, steady, responsive vehicle, no issues whatsoever, I do not care m6ch about finger marks on infitainment tab as indicated by some of the respected owners. This vehicle could be compared with some of the best on road, I would not say it will beat cayene or x5 but I have seen that it responds and keeps going on the highways effortlessly with excellent command and agility. By the way , with all due respect to other brands which I reserched and some test driven, i am m very happy to come across few artcles on pilot 2016 and choosing to visit honda dealership with family for test drive, my family and myself were so impressed with external and internal looks so finalized on pilot. Had to struggle to get color & model for few weeks, no discounts from msrp as of 7/22 but extremely happy to have this big beast, lots of space, power, ease to operate...
