Good SUV But LOts of Little Problems
POSITIVES: Attractive vehicle, both inside and out. Excellent use of interior space for both occupants and cargo. Storage room galore. Very good quality parts and fit/finish. Neat built-in lights in rear grab handles. Great power and smooth transmission. Resale value. NEGATIVES: The 3.5L V6 sometimes doesn't crank up right away (dealer says Honda is aware of this problem with that particular engine, but no fix for it yet). Numerous trim pieces had to be replaced in first 12,000 miles (e.g. the molding containing the driver's seat power switches broke; a rear door threshold molding broke; the driver's inside door handle started to peel apart) -- not what one expects from a "Honda".
Love our new Pilot
We just bought our new Honda Pilot this past weekend and could not be happier with it. We went planning to test drive both the Pilot and a Toyota Highlander since we have a growing family, but given the interior specs between the two, there was no contest. And once we drove the Pilot, we knew we would just be wasting our time by looking at the Highlander. Great interior room, classy but functional interior and exterior, easy handling in traffic and while parking.

Not Great, just Good
Don't get me wrong, the Pilot is an excellent vehicle. This is my 6th Honda product and could be the best to date. At the top of the list of attributes is value. You get more for your money and you know its a reliable vehicle. When I place the key in the ignition it will start. Sounds simple, but that doesn't happen with all vehicles. I owned a Ford before and it left me stranded on more than one occasion. We added an aftermarket hitch and hauled a trailer with no problem. The plastics are a little hard and the leather isn't the softest, but still a very good grade on the interior. A big minus is gas mileage and style. I'm considering the GMC Arcadia, but I love Honda value.
Honda Pilot EX
Great vehicle. Very dependable and performs well. Good acceleration and handling for a SUV. Very spacious, comfortable with a well thought out interior.
Fun Family Car
Fun to drive, Kids like bein the middle and way-back. Plenty of room to pack for long trips. Gas milage is the one drawback -- but true for SUV class in all. Pilot is better than most SUVs
