One Incredible Value

2009 Honda Fit Sport 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl 5A)

This car is one incredible value! In fact, I declared it the best value on the market after I shopped around for months. I wanted a practical car in which I could fit my big dog and bikes upright, a fuel efficient car, something sporty, and a car that had aesthetic appeal all at a reasonable price. My short list included only the Fit when I was done. I thought about the Prius, but this car offers an entirely different level of value. It is surprisingly roomy when you get in and has decent pick up for the engine size. I also like the ipod capability and shifters. On the way home from the dealership, I averaged 39 mpg, including mountains with the a/c on and I passed a Lexus up the hill.

Have driven 500 miles in my '09 FIT (5A). Love the sport mode and shift paddles, but am settling into the Auto mode for higher MPG. Get 42 MPG on pure highway. 26-3 2MPG in mixed rather hilly driving. Seats and ride are nice & firm. Reasonably quiet on highway. Stereo and the Ipod connection are great. Luggage space and the 'magic' folding rear seats are truly amazing for this size car. Overall, I love the car - can't wait to start it up in the morning.

Awesome Downgrade

2009 Honda Fit Sport 4dr Hatchback w/Navigation (1.5L 4cyl 5A)

I have been in an Acura TL-Type S for 3 years and debated downsizing to something less expensive and fuel efficient. I saw the 08 Fit and was waiting for honda to make improvements like VSA and Nav. I decided to order the 09 Fit Sport and have NEVER regretted this decision! I have researched hybrids & know that the environmental impact of the battery system is massive--so will wait for some new tech. BUT I was shocked when taking a road trip in the Fit and saw that I was getting 46 mpg going 65 mph on hilly, curvy highways!

Thank God I read all of the owner reviews. I would not have looked at this car, because I'm not crazy about the front end (looks like a snarling cat). But all of the good reviews were right on target. It is VERY comfortable (leg room, head room, cargo space), and drives like a dream. I am missing the remote key entry and cruise control, but if I had chosen the Sport model they were included. My only complaint is that the base model really could use some front arm rests. And yes, I am getting 42 miles per gallon!

I've had my Fit for about two weeks now. It truly is a "BIG" little car. Amazing how much room is inside and how zippy it is. I think it cools really well in hot sun. I am also pleasantly surprised because I'm getting right around 35 mpg - and that is mainly city driving (75%). I'm very pleased so far with this vehicle and would recommend it to anybody.
