Got a great closout bargain - still love it
My wife and I were looking to replace our trusty 2002 Odyssey after our boys had grown and were originally looking at a Subaru. Then my wife remembered that she had driven a Crosstour one time when our van was being serviced and really liked it, so why not check that out? One left at the dealer as they were discontinuing the model, at 20% below MSRP. Took it for a test drive and bought it on the spot. Great car to drive, responsive and handles very well. The controls are well laid out, and i really like the cool blue color. The interior is very comfortable and I am looking forward to doing an extended road trip soon. Very pleased with the purchase, and glad we got one before they were all taken! Update 2 years later. Have not regretted for a minute! A great car for road trips, we drove from Boise to Chicago return last summer to visit our son and the Crosstour ran like a bird. Did have one funky deal where the sunroof shattered during a particularly cold spell in winter, but other than that not a problem. Will be keeping this little beauty for years to come. Update Dec 2019 After 3 1/2 years I am still very happy with this car. Just got back from a Christmas trip and averaged 28 mpg with some city driving. Handles snow very well, especially with Michelin ice tires. A great roadtrip car that has been excellent mechanically.

LOVE the car
I had a 2003 Acura TL with over 130,000 miles on it and still ran as good a when I bought it. I loved that car but was rear-ended and the car totalled. I originally wanted a late model Acura but, though great cars, found them pricey. I was thinking of getting an Accord V6 EX-L. My neighbor had a Crosstour and loved it. I saw one at the dealer and decided to give it a test drive. As soon as I drove it I was hooked. The power and acceleration were as good, if not better, than my old TL. I still test drove the Accord but after driving the Crosstour there was no comparison. All the upgraded features (e.g. Bluetooth, back-up camera and nav) were a big improvement from my TL which didn't have any of those. My favorite feature is the power. Hit the gas and it goes. I've had the car a year and find it a really fun car to drive. The AWD comes in handy during our northeast winters. Very happy with the gas mileage as well. Nice to be able to fill up using regular gas as opposed to premium which my TL required. Circumstances dictated I get a new car and couldn't be happier with the Crosstour.

How every car should be
Don't understand the bad reviews this car got... It is in essence the perfect car... Sits up higher than a normal car but not enough to loose handling, higher view gives better visability and easy to get in and out, cargo size is big enough for stuff but not huge, handles like a car, basically a touring car, rides quiet, comfortable , with some get up and go when you need it... It is the perfect car

Pleasantly surprised
Traded in outback. Better acceleration, almost as good MPG, much more comfortable, better handling, better looking. I was in market for new outback or forester. The crosstour is far better in my opinion and I am a huge Subaru fan -- I still own one. It has become the family choice of transportation over Acura RDX and Subaru Crosstrek. Only knock is rear window view.

Didn't Love it, Until I Drove It
After the winter of 2014 here in the Northeast, I decided to trade in my 2013 Acura Tsx Sport wagon in. I knew I wanted AWD and wanted to stick with Honda. The Acura RDX...my first choice..rode really stiff and the discount was awful. The CX-5 also had barely a discount and felt cheap inside. The Ford Edge,2014,was a little old to me, knowing the 15 was on it's way and only rode OK. I don't like the CVT transmissions - so that knocked out both the CRV and any Subaru (although Subaru was never really an option) I NEVER considered the Crosstour until I drove it. Love the ride and handling.
102,000 miles not a lick of trouble
Temper this review because it comes from a 6 time accord, one CRV, and one civic owner. Tried the Volvo S80 (more solid, but repairs killed us after 100,000 miles, like it was meant to fall apart). Tried the Maxima, tried the camry.....in the end we love our Hondas. Everytime we drove our 2010 Crosstour we remarked how much we loved it. Going on 80,000 miles now. We live in Utah, and I originally wanted the AWD, but our 2010 with snow tires outperforms most AWDs without snows.....when i found this slightly used 2015 with just FWD i jumped on it figuring I can continue to make due without AWD. We love the hatchback, the way the seats fold down flat, has enough of what my wife and I need. Had grown children for a long roadtrip, no complaints in the 6 hour plus drive from the backseat. I did drive 4cyl versions and DO NOT recommend it. It is nowhere near powerful enough for hills, it is an embarrassment to the original Crosstour owners that Honda did this. Anyway...we love the car, for us it is just what we expected and just what we wanted. The six speed transmission and updated engine are the only real notable improvements. Needless to say, we love the 2015 Crosstour. After now 7 years of trouble free ownership, I still get in this car and as I punch it up to speed say.....wow, I really like this car. Nothing has changed in my review, we still love the car, I think Honda made a mistake by discontinuing it, notice now all the other copy cats out there.

Best Kept Secret Gone From Auto Availablility
Read several reviews on auto before purchase and was aware they were not going to be sold anymore. Found my golf clubs were easy to get in and out as well as my dogs. Though wheel wells do cut down on some wide items like a 4x8 sheet of plywood, the amount of stuff one can get in is better than the Ford Escape I traded in on the Crosstour. With V-6 the around town gas mileage is better by a couple mph than my Escape Turbo and the Road mileage was 5-6 mpg better 25 vs 30). Love the car. Only con is rear visibility and seats on a little tiring on a 1,000 mile trip. Shame the car is no longer. Will be keeping mine until the wheels fall off.

A Different Car!
I went to the dealership to purchase an Accord for my wife. She has been a Honda die-hard for many years, jumping from an Accord to several generations of the Pilot. The children are older, and the days of carting around strollers are long past, so the need for an SUV is not so important. She opted for the sedan. While waiting at the dealership, the Crosstour caught my eye. I need AWD and the space this hatchback provides would be more than enough for any shopping trip. I live in the Northeast so a sure footed ride is essential. I test drove it and was impressed that the Crosstour behaved like an Accord, albeit having heavy characteristics, most notably when braking. I want to caveat this, as I drove the Accord for hours before testing the Crosstour. I like the fact it sits higher than the standard sedan, but yet it is not like the "stanbdard" CUV/SUV that has more capacity that I rarely need, and poor gas mileage to match. Before I give my opinion on the car, i want to convey that I have owned Suburbans, Audi (A7&A8), and Explorers. Pros: This is a car is a well appointed Accord on hatchback steroids. It doesn't look like the sharp lined, rolling boxes that are dominating the car market. There is so much emphasis on the storage capacity that is claimed to be lacking ( which if you used one, you would realize it has a tons of space), but no mention of the rider comfort that is lost in the other CUV's such as the Venza or the Outback. Try riding in the back seat of one of those cars for a two hour trip... The rear seating area in the Crosstour is comfortable for two average adults with surprisingly ample legroom and ceiling height. The cabin is very quiet. The access to the rear hatch is waist high...no bending or leaning in. The V6 is very quick and responsive. The transmission shifts smoothly. The EX-L is loaded with amenities. Handling is adequate. Cons: I find the Crosstour to be too much like a Honda sedan! Is that a bad thing? The rear view is not for the average Mommy. It is a fine highway cruiser, but the city environment transmits a bit much through the wishbone suspension. Closing: The Crosstour gets a bad rap for being real. Come on...I mean when do you need over 51 Cubic Feet of cargo space every time you get behind the wheel? I find it humorous that cargo space is king when 99% of the time it's truly empty space. If you have more than three kids, you would need an SUV anyway. Its a well thought our cross-breed that has tons of space for those occasions of uber shopping, and yet it is a fine sedan when you need one, which is 99% of the time... and 24 MPG average doesn't suck.

Second Hand 2015 Honda Crosstour EX-L V6 w/navi
First off, I never thought there would be a Crosstour in my garage. We've had good luck with Honda/Acura, our other two cars are a 2007 Honda Accord Sedan V6 6MT and a 2014 Acura ILX 2.4 6MT. We are in the late 20's and 0-2 kid demographic and wanted a hatchback for strollers and such as they start coming. I'm not too fond of the current trend of small I4s (DI Turbo or N/A) and or CVTs powering family crossovers. Between the Honda J30 V6 and the Honda/Acura K24 I4 engines we currently have we have adored the performance and delivery of the V6 so we were pretty set on having a V6 in the family hauler. I do all the maintenance myself and dont really want to jump on the Direct Injected and/or turbo 4 train just yet. We were pretty set on a used 16-18 Acura RDX in either the Tech or Advance guise, we had the money, could easily afford it and were ready to pull the trigger. I looked around at other makes and models, was tempted by the excellent CX-5 (underpowered but gorgeous) but then I noticed and remembered the Crosstour. Personally I wasn't a fan of the Accord Crosstour (10-12) but the refreshed interior/exterior really did wonders in my eyes. It had the same Engine (J35) as the RDX and even the same output (HP/lb-ft) but was happy running on regular fuel (huge plus), it had a 6 speed rather than the slushy 5 speed. The 5 speed steered us away from the TSX wagon. It had some neat features like the removable storage trunk area and safety features that we didn't even know it had. At that point we were like "are we seriously considering the Crosstour?" I was aware of the sour car magazine reviews (C/D, MotorTrend and Consumer Reports) based mainly on its subjective looks and its lackluster storage capacity on paper. When I read the reviews of those who owned them they were extremely pleased with their ownership. I had test driven a few cars before but we went and test drove a 16 RDX Advance, the interior is exactly like the interior on our ILX, not necessarily a bad thing, but the leather is quite thin. I kinda grinned when my wife was like "This car feels so top heavy, I dont like that, I like the sedans we have." The ventilated seats didn't seem to do much and we didn't like that the tech didn't come with Fog lights (yes we were kinda picky). We also didn't like that the 13-15' RDX didn't have rear vents. One glaring similarity we noticed was the navigation sys on the RDX and Crosstour were nearly identical. Thats when we realized why would we spend 5k-10k more on an RDX with similar items when we can get much the same features in the Crosstour (of course minus the vented seats and adaptive cruise which we would never use anyway). Now we were in dangerous territory, the controversial Crosstour was now at the top of our list and we were scratching our heads. We went down each spec between the RDX and Crosstour and they were much the same in almost every category. Then we found a used one owner '15 Crosstour EX-L V6 2WD and Navigation (We live in CA with no snow and I dont want to deal with a transfer case, differential and the extra weight) in the unique Kona Coffee Metallic. We test drove it, loved it and left with it. This car is smooth, quiet (no not Maybach quiet), planted and willing. The paddle shifters was something I specifically wanted too, this car hauls and makes all the right sounds when driven aggressively. The Dual Wishbone suspension does take up a bit of space and weight but after driving the car it is absolutely worth the penalty. We drive the Crosstour like our "sportier" sedans and it's such a pleasure. It has more than enough space for us as we use it as a buffer car until a maybe a 3rd kid pushes us toward the larger SUVs. It shares all key components with the RDX and CR-V so parts will always be plentiful. I rather like the 18' wheels on this model, and the thicker rubber adds to the comfortable ride. We have been genuinely pleased with this choice. On our longer cruise home we averaged 31 mpgs and it showed what an excellent comfortable highway cruiser it is. If you're in the market for an off lease deal this should be a candidate. Admittedly, its looks aren't for everyone but its utility and performance surpasses many of the current comparable offerings. Surprisingly we had quite a bit of competition finding this particular setup with the low mile EX-L V6 2WD Navi's selling quickly. The test drive tells all and it does look better in person. I do recommend some items (I'm not affiliated with these products) I installed a S-VCM ($100) which basically gives you all 6 cyl all the time, the VCM system is obnoxious and the longevity can be negatively effected. I also installed the Kensun 4300k HID (35W) ($60) in the projector housings which match the performance and color of our '14 ILX's HIDs, and LED interior lights ($15). This is a solid package for the 0-2 kids demographic and we have no complaints so far. And yes you can open the rear hatch in your garage without hitting anything. :)

Completely In
I love my 2nd Crosstour . It is a 2015 with navigation and remote start. It is very comfortable . Even though it’s an all-wheel-drive putting Blizzak snowtires on makes it almost unstoppable in the snow ! This is the best car I have ever owned hands down ! Nothing is perfect but it surely comes close !

Survived the "looks ugly" stage!
When we first got the car there was a lot of negativity regarding its looks and lack of "box" utility. The "critics" never drove it and hated from afar. Well being a decades old Honda owner we wanted a dependable and safe car that suited our life-style. Took a shot at what we needed. Absolutely no regrets 9 years later. Also noticed a number of high end copy-cat vehicles popping up recently. My guess was that Honda messed up the marketing and the look was slightly ahead of its time.

An understated Vehicle
NEW UP DATE: The longer I own the vehicle the more I realize Honda no longer makes great reliable vehicles. The brakes need to be replaced every 9 months or so. Replaced the axels four time and the is still a slow speed vibration at acceleration. Bluetooth is more miss than hit on connecting and privacy mode requires me to turn the vehicle off to reconnect and get any audio. Interior is also falling apart. Next vehicle will be Toyota as this feel more like the poor GM garbage. **Update*** After owning this car fir a couple years I still like the features of the car being a utility sedan. However, the cost of ownership is very high from what I expected from a Honda vehicle. Break pads need to ge replaced about twice a year, the axel has worn out twice already, never had to do that to any car I've owned. The started and push button ignition has failed twice. The bluetooth freezes often and I can't make calls, or change music. I must shut the car off and restart. I've owned Honda's before, this vehicle will likely be my last. I'm now looking at Totota for my next car. ***End Update*** I readeral of the reviews before considering this vehicle, I didn't even know it existed until I shopped around. I am coming from a Pilot where we drove the wheels off of it and went on many adventures. I noted that people either loved or hated this car. I think this is a car many people will have missed and once it's out of production people will look back and appreciate it for what it is. Fortunately, it is not a high demand vehicle so I was able to get a great deal to move the inventory from the dealer. We are an active family who does road trips and plenty of cycling. 15 years of driving trucks or vehicles that drive like a truck I was ready to get into a sedan style but with some cargo space for gear. The small SUV's were suggested but at the end of the day I didn't like the style or set up of feeling like I was driving a little box or a Pilot that was shrunk. I really liked the idea of a wagon or hatchback to load our gear and go. This vehicle drives well and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything that we like to do. The up side is better gas milage and a more comfortable ride. Plenty of room in the front as well as for the back seat passengers. The roof line may be a bit low for tall people back there. Enough cargo for what we do and the hidden compartments are nice. I opted for the roof rack for bikes, which can be noisy with the roof open but close the sliding roof liner and the interior is very quite, especially compared to the Pilot or the Tacoma I drove. Only two things that I do care for is fist the audio sound. The speakers are weak and don't have a great sound quality. Second, to get a 2" receiver hitch to carry additional bikes or cargo is near impossible. I know you can't tow with this vehicle but It's a miss for a cross over vehicle not to allow these for people who carry bikes or already have a rack. Fortunately, I found a manufacture that can do a 2" receiver for this car that I may try. Finally, the rear visibility takes some getting use to because it is split, but it's not too bad. All in all I'm very pleased with this vehicle. Update: April 2016: still very happy with the car. Completed a 1500 mile road trip with four of us and four bike including a 2" receiver hitch mount bike rack and all went well. The car carried the gear well with no drag to the engine. Enough cargo room and all were comfortable.

Engine is BAD
The ride and feel of the car is amazing. It is a quiet ride and the sound system is good. The AWD is great and with good tires it is a tank in the snow. I have had the backup camera replaced and the starter replaced twice (known issue). Then the engine blew (valves bent over etc) at 79,500 miles. The dealer said the oil was overfilled by 1.5 quarts and blamed the issue on that. This is not possible because I still had 1/2 quart in the 5 quart jug and religiously changed the oil every 5000 miles with synthetic oil and mobil 1 filter. In researching I found the fuel pump is too high pressure and can result in gas blow-by and getting into the oil. This is a known issue for this car engine. I was still under a mileage warranty but 9 days out of the extended warranty I purchased and Honda would do NOTHING. I will never buy another Honda no matter what.

HONDA CROSSTOUR...THERE'S A REASON THEY STOPPED
My first Crosstour was a 2013 EX-L AWD V-6 Kona Brown. I drove it over 100,000 miles. During the warranty the interior carpet was replaced because they cut it too small at the factory, the starter was replaced TWICE because it was one of 'three cars' that had this problem in the U.S., then the differential was replaced. I then traded it for a 2015 Crosstour, the last year Honda made this model, exactly like the 13 except this one was black. I did all the service recommended including transmission fluid changes. The one in November caused the trans to vibrate quite a bit. I returned to the dealer to be told by the service writer I might need a new trans with 112,000 miles, just 12,000 over my extended warranty sold to me by Honda! The service writer came to the waiting area and said this problem was on a dealer 'service bulletin'. The fix was change the fluid again, drive it 20 minutes, change it again, drive it 20 minutes, then change it again and I could drive off with it. Almost $300 later still vibrates and a Google search shows 448,000 hits on this problem. The reason they stopped are the lawsuits. Jan. 2, 2019 Since my first review the radiator blew in traffic blocking the lane at a cost of $850. Recently the head casket blew in the middle of five lanes of I-95 in Portsmouth, NH. I was able to get off the interstate at a very low speed. To replace the engine with a used one was $4137.38. Only 31 more payments on this LEMON.

Honda 2015 Crosstour EXL
This is our 4th Crosstour over the years. We still use this or the 2013 Crosstour EX. Got it at a great price. Got it to a garage to do a detailed look and change all the fluids. No issues found! New tires. Great car as usual. Former owners took excellent care of it. Came out of Arizona. Has not had a need to visit the shop for repairs since purchase.

HOLLAR FOR MY HONDA CROSSTOUR
I received so many compliments! I bought the 2011 used from one prior owner and i bought it at a ford dealership ( go figure :-) the car handles very well on the freeway, low maintenance, it's a real pleasure to drive. The pick-up is great and response time is just what i need when dodging rush hour traffic. I hope Honda brings this back ! I will keep this one and get another one, lol..... luv this silver bullet . THIS IS A UPDATE IT'S MARCH 2021. My 2011 Crosstour has 131,000 miles In the last 8 months, I had to repair a lot of items to keep her going like: Timing belt, spark plugs, valve in the engine went bad and leaked oil all over the alternator. I personally feel this was a design flaw. These repair were about $2,100. I still plan to keep the car so I paid for the repairs. The dealership said "I should get another 130,000 out of the car" next is the transmission flush. Oh well it's 10 years old, I probably won't buy another Honda though. My other cars never had these expenses at 130 k. It's a good car to drive. But I think I will go back to domestic car.

I absolutely love my crosstour. I love everything about this car. Unfortunately Honda doesn't make it anymore. Trying to like the New Accord but it doesn't have all the bells and whistles my crosstour has and the monitor looks to much like an etch a sketch 🤷♀️

a gentle giant
After owning an older Highlander Hybrid, I wasn't sure if the fuel economy would be lost with the v/6 Crosstour. To my surprise, I get 32 mpg with this luxo boat on open road trips. The hybrid on open roads got 25 and city 30 mpg. The open road is where I'm at with this classy ride. I fell in love with the do everything beast that keeps me turning my head to take a look after a drive. It has the love hate design that gives it the capability to be what you want. Aggressive styling but yet capable enough to do anything. I can compare it to my once owned Audi Allroad that priced me away come repair time. Now I have that Honda reliability thats a joy to drive all day that coddles me and sips fuel and still perform well.

I e owned a Crosstour since 2015 new, and I love it!!! You can haul more than what you think you can in it if you’re on the highway or interstate you push on the gas and you’re gone I love the interior I love the backseats lay down for more extra room I love the hidden compartments in the back the only thing it doesn’t have I wish it did was an automatic back door opener to put groceries and stuff and he got a lift it yourself other than that I don’t have a problem I never would
