As a relatively short person I find an ease in getting in and out of the vehicle without needing running boards. It is large enough to see around other vehicles in parking lots yet not so big that you feel you are driving a tank. The only flaw which has since been corrected in the 2002 model is the lack of horsepower for its size.

We needed a larger vehicle for our 2 small children when commuting and for vacations and the CR-V fits perfectly. Great ergonomics (except for window switches), gas milage, and storage capacity.

197K miles and going strong

Purchased my CRV in 2002 with 50K on it. I am 6' tall and there is plenty of headroom. Comfortable seats, could drive all day in it. Love the visibility. Dependable. Lost radiator this year. No other problems. Gas mileage has been good, about 28-29 mpg highway doing 70mph. Once in awhile I'd like a bit more pep, but overall no concerns. I'd like to keep this vehicle for many more years.

Transfer case/rear differential problems

At 60,000 miles I am having to replace the transfer case and the rear differential. I am told that the bearings have worn out. The total cost of these repairs is over $3500. I am very dissapointed that the car would need such major work. American Honda has agreed to pay 75%, but it still means almost $700 out of my pocket, not to mention the headache.
