Sink the boat of GM
I've owned GM cars for 15 years & never once thought of owning a Honda. After big problems with the LeSabre & the Lacrosse, it was time for a change. The Accord was just the answer I was looking for. Smooth ride and quietness makes the high marks of this car. A little road noise is present, but not a bother. Will keep this car for long time.
Reliable commuter car
The car is very reliable with great fuel economy for a midsize, but the finish out is cheap. Glove compartment drawer rattles and there is rattle from trunk lid. I've learned to live with it, instead of taking it into the shop. Driver door handle faux metal finish flaked off within the first 10,000 miles (replaced - no charge). The seat heaters only heat the seat and not the lumbar/lower back. Seats are not made for long trips (3+ hours) without a stretch break. Finish out is the biggest negative and almost enough to trading-in or sell an otherwise reliable vehicle.

My 6 Honda - 4th Accord
1st off, I'd like to say that this is my 4 Accord. Have owned a 89, 92, 99 now the 06. This is least favourite. I've owned the car for 6 months now (I drive about 35,000 miles per yr., mostly highway and I cannot get over the very poor gas mileage - the car is from the US but I live in Toronto. As all my cars I drive about 130 on the highway which is 75ish and this car has getting half what my 99 did with 280,000 kilos on it (original clutch/motor not touched) I've got as bad as 275 miles to the tank and best was 375. I don't push it off the line but do drive at 75 and its by far the loudest Accord inside.
Great car for the money
I bought it two weeks ago and am very pleased. 29.4 MPG in second fillup on city/country roads (no highways!). I looked at others but decided on the Accord due to fuel economy and roomy interior. I was willing to spend a few thousand more if I could get more value but couldn't justify it based on what I was getting with the Accord. I went out with my wife and another couple last night and they couldn't believe the comfort and room in the back. On the downside, I wish they would have a thermometer that it easy to access. Other annoying omissions include no mute button on the radio, no fuel economy guage and no compass!
Poor man's BMW
Don't believe the estimated mpg. I consistently get 26mpg city/hwy & 31 hwy. This V6 is fast, comfortable & fun to drive. It doesn't handle quite as well in the corners as my previous car, 1995 BMW 525i, but would blow the doors off it. You do notice road noise at hwy speeds & the ride is a little stiff, feeling the bumps in the road, but that could be the original tires. It handles well in snow even with original tires. The interior & dash are well designed to keep controls simple and easy to reach. I'm a 6'2" male & have plenty of leg & head room.
