Used 2017 GMC Terrain Consumer Reviews
End of Season Terrain
The extremely aggressive rebates that applied to this 2017 model totaled almost $6000, lowering the purchase price significantly, about 20% off sticker. While not an option listed above, this was a 6-cyl SLT. After a test drive, the 4-cyl just didn't have the power needed for this truck. To put it plainly, the 6- cyl eats gas. The fuel mileage is so bad you'd think you were driving an 8-cyl. The other complaint is that the center console controls are a bit of a stretch, the nav system could be simpler to operate and the only USB port is buried in the center console. Also, as soon as you plug into the USB, the audio source changes, which stinks if you don't want it to. The source also changes on its own the first time you change it back to where you want it. This is very annoying, but my daughter's Chevy Cruze does the same thing, so it must be a GM thing. Besides issues, the truck has power, room (especially headroom), is comfortable, has good cargo space, and a generally sweet interior. It's a great ride, and we're very happy with the deal received, but maybe a little less so than when we left to the showroom.

Very disappointed in the GMC Terraine
I changed jobs and needed a car fairly fast. I saw this car on the lot in what appeared to be a good deal, $23,000. By the time I was out of there, my loan was $28,000. For $28,000, I could have gotten a great Honda or Toyota but I wanted to buy American. There are some great American cars out there but not this one. My fault for rushing. One of the reasons I liked it was the exterior design. I like the tough front end which looks like a truck front end. The 2018 looks like every other mid-size SUV. Bad mistake on GMC's part to change the styling. Here are my problems: 1) it sounds like a tin-can when you close the doors. A little injection fill of some sort should have fixed that. 2) biggest problem is the seats are tilted up ever so slightly (bottom portion) so it is causing major pain in my right leg (probably sciatica) I've spent hours trying to get just the right position and nothing works. It lifts your leg just enough to be uncomfortable. I looked on line and others have the same problem. I called GMC about them adjusting it somehow mechanically and no one really cares. Not possible. So I had to buy a tacky seat cushon and I'm hoping that works. You better make sure the 2018 models don't have that slant. I was in my buddy's Honda truck this weekend. Ahhhhh. The pain resided. 3) the salesman told me the radio was the latest technology; that I could play my iphone through the radio, pandora, etc. I spent hours trying to figure it out. I called 2 dealers, I called the technical hotline. I stopped in a dealer twice. No one could help me get it working. I was told by the technical line that my model, S1 radio does NOT have that option. To replace radio would be $1500 or more. Finally after wasting all that time, I found a special adaptor that allows me to play pandora, etc. through the car radio. How could no one know that. Meanwhile, its a great big hassle because I can't charge my iphone and use this adapter at the same time and there is NO other adapter that works. 3) the headliner is like paper. it has ripped in 3 places and the dealer won't fix it even though I have the "interior" warranty. What a joke. I've owned and driven company cars for 40 years; at least 20 different cars and only a used Grand Prix in about 1983 had a torn headliner and it was probably already 10 years old. 4) The seat covers are cheap looking and it ruins the overall interior design of the car. The little holes in the fabric catch food and other things. 5) I'd trade the car in tomorrow but it appears in just nine months, I'd already lose over $10,000. Its KBB is $17,153 so I'm stuck with this lunch box for a long time. What a joke.

The security system saved my life
I had an accident yesterday with my GMC terrain. Someone in full speed sent me right into a truck. The car is a total loss after the crash. But I am alive and this is a miracle. All the airbags worked perfectly, the shock was absorbed completely and I don't even have a scratch. Everybody agreed on the scene to say that this car is well none for keeping people safe in those situations. Despite of that, I had fun with it. It is reliable and pleasant in every way. I recommend it for the comfort and the safety.

Up-scaling- while down scaling auto
Read the Damn , car books & try to get decent understanding about car use & operations. Looked for newer car that tried to compare in gas millage. This SUV, was not bad. with an inline 4 & econ. setting but my Toyota Solara , still beats it with a V-6 & rides better drives better, & gets better millage.--But it was stole 2x in week. So got wife a small SUV. This was 1 of better choices I could actually afford to pay for.

GORGEOUS ,VERY LITTLE MILES, LIKE BRAND NEW
Was stupid thing to rid of this very beautiful car as was NOTHING WRONG with it. JUst after 3 years warranty had to be updated. I bought new, drove very little, was extremely happy with it. The most of times Terrain was kept in the garage, It was the BEST car, I could dream of it. I trade to Jeep just for more horse power. I'm pretty happy with new car, but miss my GMC Terrain every day.

Great Vehicle!
This vehicle gave me great service with little trouble. Got super gas mileage peaking at > 34 mpg on the highway. Even though it had the 4 cyl engine, it was enough for my use since I didn’t drive a lot of highway miles.

MY THIRD TERRAIN!
Someone broadside me after 3 weeks of owning this car and I am driving a Cadillac. Horrible by comparison. Sold my others within minutes of letting others know it was for sale. Car holds it's value and I had it before it was popular. Elegant in quick silver which I needed to take around my clients-retro style is classy. The only problem I had, was shopping as a woman even on the Internet. Previously I shopped as a Latin male with no problem. The one GMC dealer in the northern part of Miami Dade County had me come in a fill out the papers for a car they didn't have and then wanted to charge me additional to get it. SO BE AWARE OF ALL DEALINGS.

Don’t buy 2.4 eco tech
GM knows this engine has problems! Go ask any small town mechanic. They will tell you. Cam shaft solenoid goes bad and you will then ruin your timing an on down the line. This all will cause a blow engine. I bought mine out after the lease 2 months ago. Well now I’m stuck with a $15k paper weight. Merry Christmas. ): I wish someone would have told me.
