Fun and useful in a pinch.
I bought my Mustang new with a manual transmission and the V6, the idea was for fun but not a gas guzzler and it paid off. Of all the coupes that were available that year this one was the best all-around that I found. I can put two golf bags in the back or enough luggage for a road trip. It's really built for two but my son is fine in a front-facing car seat in the back. I'm not racing it but like to punch the gas on occasion and it's had plenty of get up and go. With over 100k miles on it when I sold it, I still feel like I could jump in and drive across the country and not worry about breaking down. The only major mechanical issue I have had was the diaphragm spring on the clutch pressure plate broke which was a manufacturing defect. I also felt like the transmission synchronizers from 3rd to 4th were never quite right because the gears would sometimes grind when accelerating hard but only on that shift. The My-color dash was cool but did have a glitch with the coloring ever once in a while. It was also disappointing that while the dash backlighting changed the display for mileage was green LCD as well as the HVAC, Radio, and Window buttons.

V6 Premium w/Pony Package Review
Purchased a V6 Premium Mustang w/Pony Package and the 5spd auto with 84k to replace the wife's Pontiac G5 GT that gave us nothing but problems. The car is in great condition for the year and the miles on the vehicle. The car is mechanically sound and in great physical condition. The Mustang has already done its duty by keeping the wife safe when she hit a patch of black ice. The car sustained basically no body damage, just some rear suspension damage. Definitely satisfied with the purchase at this point having put 3,000 miles in the 4 months of ownership. The gas mileage is acceptable for the type of vehicle as we are averaging around 19 city and 24 hwy.
