Used 2002 Ford Mustang Consumer Reviews
Jar your spine
My husband bought this car for me to replace my tired Mazda 626. The 626 was very well-equipped, so the Mustang falls short on a number of "extras". The biggest problem is the hard ride. It's fine on smooth pavement, but who has that to drive on any more? The clutch is also extremely tricky. I am accustomed to driving various vehicles with standard transmissions, but mastering this one is very difficult. My spouse has the same problem. I love the look of the car, but have had to equip the driver's seat with a hospital-quality wheelchair seat cushion to avoid having a splitting pain in my neck when driving.
V6 powered!
Ok, so I am poor and can only afford to pay insurance on a 6 cyl. but it was the best car I could have bought. After adding my cold air intake, dual exhaust, short throw shifter and new wheels, i easily made it in the 15's in the 1/4. Its a fun car to take out and road race, and I get alotta looks in the nice zinc yellow.

Love the Mustang
Driving the Mustang is fun. I usually get 24-29 mpg; lower for strictly city driving. Other than regular maintance I am at about 160,000 miles and recently had my first car incident with a u-joint replaced. I added a sun roof when I made the purchase and am passing it down to my son!
Mustang GT a Real Pleaser
The Mustang GT is a real head turner. The acceleration and handling are outstanding and the Mach 460 stereo system rocks. The car is surprisingly refined for a rear drive muscle car and the quality seems to be very good. I would recommend this car to anyone whom wants a sporty, agressively styled car with the retro look and personality of a sixties musclecar.
02 GT convertible Good & Bad.... For 2012
ive had the car for almost 2 years and have had 3 engines in it., Driver window fail, fuel pump failed, CD player failed and the transmission has small leak. i love the car& dont really plan on ever selling. but its not recommended for a daily driver, its not very reliable but its 10+ years old. But for a fun top down weekend warrior its great. and its idea for customization. I know more than 10 people with the same style mustang GT, and they have problems too, but still love them. if you buy one I recommend having $2-3k set aside for future repairs. MPG isnt great either I average 15MPG combined... But it works for me because I only drive the car maybe once a month.
