Used 2011 Ford Fusion SE 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6M) Consumer Reviews
Life Saver
We owned a 2011 Ford Fusion. We are so happy that the car's accident safety features worked so well! Our son, 17 years old, was in a bad accident driving 80 mph on a highway. He lost control and hit a guardrail. Everyone was amazed that our son was walking around with just a few cuts on his forehead and one bruise on the inside of his elbow. He ended up with several stitches in his forehead and a concussion. We are so thankful that the safety features in the car saved our son's life!

Big problem with manual transmission
I bought this car brand new and had it for a few days when, on occasion, it would not go into first gear when stopped. When it would finally go in, it would grind very badly. I took it to the dealer with only 428 miles on it and was told they are replacing the entire transmission. Besides that, I love the car. Aside from the problem with first gear, it shifts extremely smoothly, has good acceleration, and handles like a dream. I hope the transmission problem does not turn out to be a recurring one.

Lots to Like
I wanted a midsized sedan with a sunroof and manual transmission that was bigger than a Jetta or Civic. The Fusion is it. Plenty of room for my 6'5" frame. Power is adequate yet plenty of fun to drive. Smooth gear changes, but I wish 5th and 6th gear weren't so close together. Shifting to 6th at 55 mph or so only drops the RPM about 200. Stereo quality is decent. I miss the dual tailpipes on the 2010 model.
SE manual trans
I have to agree with the previous reviewer. My biggest complaint, and it ain't much, is the gear spacing. At 65 I'm turning 2500 RPM, where an automatic turns about 2000. Ford must have bought the trans from a different car company, and stuck it in the Fusion, with no engineering changes, other than fitment. It's a shame. Otherwise the car is quiet, rides really nice, and is very comfortable. I'm very happy with the car, but with a gear change, I could be ecstatic. I can easily drive at 40 MPH in 6th with no problem. Should not be the case. Average 26 mpg around town (suburban) and have hit 36 mpg at 65 mph. Going on a 2400 mile trip next week. Will see then what it does.
Ford Fusion
This car is a sleek mid size sedan which provides a smooth ride on all types of road. It maneuvers well especially when it zips into a parking space. While the car is roomy for five passengers, there is a large trunk that can haul more than two popular SUV s I previously owned. There are many amenities including Bluetooth and the back-up warning system. More importantly, it has a high(4.4/5 stars) safety rating.
