2018 Fusion Energi

One of the reasons I decided to go with a hybrid was the $4007 federal tax credit as well as the $2500 cash rebate in the state of Texas (the dealership didn’t know anything about this rebate). On a full charge I can almost get to work and then drive home on the gasoline motor. I have just over 10K miles on it and have had it 7 months. According to the app for the car so far I have saved 195 gallons of fuel. This is more than the car payment for 1 month. While there are some features I miss from my 2016 Honda Accord (the Lane keep assist was much better in the Honda). The Ford Fusion Hybrid Energi SE does have many feature upgrades than my Honda. It seems that the SE comes with leather interior, sun roof, heated seats, Apple Car Play and the Android equivalent. The Ford also comes with the automatic seat adjustment for 2 different drivers, automatic high beam headlights and automatic windshield wipers. When it comes to acceleration and handling the Honda wins hands down, but the fuel Econ is substantially higher. The trunk on the Honda was huge, but I really have not had any issues with using the truck to get groceries and the like. One thing that I wish Ford would do is let me know how many miles are on the electric motor and the gasoline engine. Seems that an oil change interval based on the actual miles of the gas motor would benefit from allowing you to see the actual miles on each. Other than those minor details I am pretty happy with the vehicle. $29,094.10 (includes $5000 trade in credit over pay off) - $4007 federal tax credit -$2500 cash rebate from my state = $22,587.10

Still in Love

I purchased this car in q4 2018. Just before the $7k rebate expired. I want my next car to be an ev but didn't have tesla money to spend. I test drove the hybrid model was not impressed by the performance, I need the ability to have some "fun". I couldn't get that "fun" feeling i was looking for. The energi model had what I needed. The added umph when pushed "energi deletion mode" gives this vehicle that "fun" feeling the hybrid lacks. I also love using the "L" button when I drive. If you don't know what that means in summary it will allow the Energi the drive with active regenerative braking. There are comments about grabby brakes, that goes away once the brakes are worked in. I'm at 38k and they feel fine. If you have the option get the Energi Titanium model. It comes with larger brakes and wheels. These are now mods I will like have to do with my 17" wheels. The Energi drives like a fwd family sedan but since there is a sport and a modding community there are aftermarket parts available to update the suspension and performance. Example: throttle response module $500 Air intake $300 Exhaust $500 Suspension $1200 With these mods this is now comparable to BMW or AUDI without all wheel drive.

Short battery life

Bought this car new in 2017. Drives great but battery now is only at 50% capacity after 5 years. How is EV the answer if it loses 50% of range over 5 years. That would be like a gas car initially getting 40 mpg then 5 years later getting 20 mpg. Warranty only covers total failure. First and last EV for me.

I've had my car now for a little over a month and I have to tell you I am pretty impressed with Ford so far. I've driven Honda and Toyotas most of my life but decided to buy a vehicle that looked nice and had decent gas mileage. I've test-driven several cars and was not a big fan of the plastic style dashboards... Ford has really done a great job with its interior making it feel like you're driving in luxury. My Ford Fusion feels like I'm riding on air and I love the sound system when stuck in traffic, very comfortable. Ford Fusion has sharp looks and delivers for a midsize sedan. I love the plug-in feature giving me pretty good gas mileage... family and friends seem to be impressed that I can plug and go lol. I'm also very impressed and pleased with the roominess of the vehicle my kids have grown and they sit comfortably when I pick them up taking them around town. I could go on and on but what really sets this car apart is the shark looks, beautiful interior and gas mileage.
