Ford Freestyle ... a standout vehicle

We have been buying Fords for a number of year; mostly Explorers. It was time to trade our older Explorer for another vehicle and we were looking at the Escape. This vehicle was not to our liking because of the hand brake appearance and location. It looked like a covered umbrella. After test driving the Freestyle; we bought one. It is a delight to drive. A smooth driving transmission, good safety features, nice appearance, and it has most of the 'bells and whistles' we wanted. This is, without any doubt, a great automobile. We recommend it highly to families or individuals who want a well engineered vehicle. What I do not understand is why Ford does not advertise this fine auto.

Ford Freestyle

I love my Freestyle. I love the AWD.The only complaint I have is that I wish it had a bit more pick up from the take off. The gas mileage is ok not great, but it sure is better than a SUV. Even though it isn't a SUV, it acts like one to me with the AWD. The interior is very comfortable. Very people friendly when it comes to having chldren under the age of ten. I feel very safe and comfortable in my Freestyle just by the fact I sit a bit higher in my car. It is a fun car to drive whether you have to drive far, or just around the corner. All around I feel safe, and I have fun driving my freestyle.

We love it - President's Week VT ski trip

Snow experience - We just returned from a family ski vacation in Vermont where we had plenty of opportunity to test the AWD LTD Freestyle. The car was fully loaded with 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs and supplies for the week's trip. We drove up in a snow storm and by the time we entered Vermont we were driving on packed snow mixed with sand. We saw over 7 accidents but can report the Freestyle AWD performed well. Even on the snow most of the 4X4's were going 50 mph on the interstate and we had no problem at all with the Freestyle. The match of the CVT with the engine is perfect and when letting up on the gas the engine/transmission actually brake the car giving a strong sense of confidence. "Tank Like"

You don't have to buy a minivan!

This car is your solution to not buying a minivan. Plenty of space. Plenty of toys. Plenty of power. If you want more power, buy a Mustang. If you want more gas mileage, buy a Focus. This car is a good blend of multiple needs (space, power, gas mileage, comfort, etc).

This car exceeded all my expectations. After I sat in the car, I knew this is the one I am looking for. Handled excellently in snow and slippery roads. Drives like a car, but holds lots of cargo. The seating is perfect. Even with the lowest trim level, the seats are very comfortable. Very smooth ride. Good gas mileage for a vehicle of this size.
