Overall very happy with the Freestyle
I have had this suv/station wagon for almost 6 months and am very happy with it. It fits my three children with no problem. The interior design is very appealing (although coming out of our Ford Windstar, anything would have looked good to me!) I love the CVT. It drives so smoothly. My only complaint is the handle on the liftgate is awful. I cannot get a good grip on it because it is not deep enough to put my fingers in. No doubt this car is a nice combination of my old Expedition and Windstar all in one with a little sedan feeling incorporated too.
Great Vehicle
This vehicle has not received a lot of publicity and I don't know why. It has been, in the short time I've owned it, a solid vehicle with better than average fuel mileage, comfort and performance. We are getting ready to take it on a 1200 mile trip and I look forward to the ride.

Underrated AWD Wagon
I have been driving this vehicle for several months now and have been delighted with its overall performance and utility. As a user of SUV's for the last 15 years, I have found the ride, handling and accessibility of this vehicle to be outstanding. I have used this vehicle multiple times for hauling large quantities of lumber and the fold-down front seat has been very beneficial. The only change to my original vehicle order that I would make would have been to put a tire with a little more aggressive tread on it for winter driving, although I'm sure part of the better ride is attributable to the current tires used on the vehicle. This vehicle should be getting much more notice than it is.
Love the Car but......
I have very near 3,000 miles on the vehicle and have few complaints with the exception of the fuel mileage. I've read the previous reviews which speak of 20 and more miles per gallon and I'm just not getting that. My best so far was 17.5 mpg on the highway. I purchased the Freestyle to replace my beloved SportTrac because I needed the cargo space and the Freestyle comes through. Plenty of space and comfort to boot! No problems getting used to the CVT and although there is some road noise it is acceptable. I have read the reviews of the interior style being plastic, but think it is modern and stylish, I like it!
A manly station wagon
I am a 48 year old male driver who thinks an SUV is overkill. I want a versitile vehicle that can pull a utility trailer for trips to the home improvement store, hold a roof carrier for beach trips, and comfortably take the family of four on a trip and still have room for Grandma. I bought this vehicle out of frustration of not being able to find a mini-van without a DVD-entertainment system but still had stuff like ABS. It has grown on me. Even though it is the base model, this "car" has all the features I wanted, and after driving it for a couple of years, I can say I still like driving it. If I had to replace it right now, I'd probably buy another.
