Not Reliable

We got our car Christmas of 2004 and ever since then, we've been fixing it bit by bit. Right off the bat we had to have the CD player and trunk mechanism replaced. Also, noticed a problem with accelerating from a rolling stop. That was a computer problem they didn't end up fixing until Christmas 2005. Also, got a dash bubble. That was replaced. Then the reverse sensing and memory seats went out. Now they've been replaced. We have had enough however Ford will not replace our car. It doesn't quite fall under the lemon laws and they won't do what is ethically right and give us a replacement. We don't know what next will go wrong with the car.

LACKS POWER

The car seems to have a hugh hesitation when weather is warm or cold and a lot of pull on the motor. It seems to have no 0-30mph get up and go.

GRAY HAIR/BIG CAR

I like my 500 but it is definitely underpowered...not sure if the CVT is the culprit for the lack of power. I would like to see an SRT version of the 500 for us Boomer's that like to be respectable, comfortable, and civilized but want the "extra" under the hood that we can set free on those all too rare occasions.

Buyer's Remorse?

Comfortable, but transmission was replaced -- after a big hassle with dealer. Had to rent a car (my car is leased). They put me through the ringer. I feel Ford needs to treat their customers better. I should have bought a Nissan.

Old foggy

Driving this car is a pleasure. The steering and handling are very good. The seating is high so old foggies like me can enter and exit the car easily. The interior panels are easy to read. However the clock is set too low and hard to find. The trunk is big. Going on a trip we don't have to plan how to fit everthing in. The head room is high. I can wear my hat and not hit the roof with my head. The gas mileage is excellent in the city and on a trip.
