First new car purchase. Just passed 7000 miles after a year and a half. Drove out west into Montana and was quite surprised by the comfort and lack of road noise. Averaged 31.4 for the trip which was an added bonus. Still doesn't quite match up to my Tiguan which has been the best car I have ever owned. But, it's a close second. Now up to 13k on the Escape. Made a trip to Phoenix and up to Montana in October. Now averages 34 on a long drive. Hit a deer in Montana at 60 mph and got away with only a couple thousand dollars of damage. Which is plenty. I am still impressed with the comfortable ride and good mileage on a long drive.

Try the vehicle out for a few days and drive it for several hours at a time (most dealerships will let you borrow the vehicle if you ask). I'm 5'9" and 160 lbs. The vehicle is really uncomfortable for me. Each time I drive it I get leg and back cramps within minutes of driving. I've tried to adjust the seat every way possible and nothing works. It comes down to BAD design. My leg is forced into an un-natural position due to the way the console is designed. Rather than going straight from the front to the back seat area, the plastic bulges (convex) forcing the right leg to the left making for great discomfort. The seat also leans (angles) slightly from right to left at an uncomfortable degree and 3rd - its tilted from front to back forcing you to sit on an angle (bucket seat). I wish I would have test driven it and really paid attention to this because now I have a major problem on my hands with this major investment.

Bought a brand new 2019 SEL AWD, liked the car as i had rented it before. However the one i got gives me a sudden jerk when applying brakes, it happens only for 15 to 20 min after a cold start.Looks like the transmission has some problem. Took it to the dealership however i was told to relax since the car is under warranty. Hoping to have it disappear some day. Not a fan of the car anymore, though i have to live with it now.
