I have this truck with the inline 6 diesel engine in it. All i have to say is this truck can tow what other trucks cant!. the maximum trailer weight rating for this truck is 17,500lbs, i currently tow a 50 foot Featherlite 5th wheel trailer with my truck and it weighs 21,500lbs full. i put on over 100000 miles on my truck a year driving from ontario to texas to race what i got in the trailer. this truck had almost a million miles on it and it has the original engine/ tranny! and it pulls the trailer (I find) effortlessly on the highwy with my 6 speed manual. BUY A CUMMINS DIESEL

I will never spend that much money and time on another dodge car, truck or anything that says dodge, etc.I have replaced injectors 6 times and the factory kept sending bad ones to the shop I spent 2500.00 on a new transmission and the turbo has gone out again all of the little gadgets(seat handles, etc)have fallin off or broke and now I cant trade it cause I will be 6,000 dollars upside down.

I highly recommend this truck. I bought mine brand new from the factory. It is a dually and it gets 19 miles to the gal. of diesel. The only thing that is bad is it has no weight in the rear end unless you are towing, which it is a great tower. It tows a 32' fifth wheel trailer with no problem.

I have always been a Ford guy,but when I went to buy a new Ford they would not deal,so I seen this Dodge in this dealership and checked it out.I bought it right on the spot, this is by far the best truck I have ever had,and I have owned 15 trucks.. Simply the best truck on the road, the 5.9 Cummins makes the whole package great..

Very comfortable truck. Good eye level, sits up nice and high, feels powerful, makes you feel in control, handles good, good power for a 3500, also good fuel economy for a 3500.

I love this truck. It handles and turns almost like a compact car. I can do an intersection U-turn and never hit the curb. It rides great with the 6 way power drivers seat. What a pleasure to own.

We live in Nebraska and pull a fifth wheel trailer. Did not want a 4WD because of height of truck. Could not get 2 wheel drive locally! Had to go all the way to Florida to find one!! Love this truck. It is fully loaded with leather seats, diesel, and really neat overhead console. Shows compass, outside temp, mpg, miles to go before refill needed. A man and his truck is a beautifull thing!!!

This has been by far the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. At 125K miles there have been zero mechanical failures. The Cummins diesel is a joy to drive, smooth and powerful with excellent fuel economy - 20+ mpg on highway, 15 mpg carrying a very large truck camper. It pulls large trailers like a breeze. The truck is mechanically still like new. The split bench seats with the fold- down console are extremely comfortable, it is far more pleasurable to drive on a long trip than our similar 2001 Ford F-250 with captain's chairs. The only problem I have had so far is cosmetic, the paint is beginning to pimple and crack from Dodge's poor primer system.

I have put over 170,000 miles on this truck since buying it in Sept '05. It's a true working man freind. I make my living hauling boats( loaded on a 53ft trailer) and this ol truck does an awesome job. Pulling power is good (I've just now decided to turn it up) and the fuel mileage is excellent. I went for a 4 wheel drive model because of towing (I run the 48 states plus all of Canada), it has excellant road manners in bad weather.

I needed a truck for my business that had good mileage as well as towing and hauling capacity. Plus it absolutely had to be reliable and require minimal time in the dealership. To date it has been in the dealer once; for wind noise! Mileage is just short of incedible considering the fact it is loaded all the time and gets on avg 17 MPG. Long trips, not a problem the SLT plus is the way to go. I didn't want a full option model and now I won't get anythig but. I only wish Dodge would make a Suburban out of this so the wife could have one too.

The 24 valve diesel is underpowered and prone to very costly repairs due to the fuel pump problems. I have had to replace 5 lift pumps and two injector pumps. At both times Dodge stated that this was fixed. Only after I did some aftermarket add ons did the dead pump syndrone stop. The truck needs several improvements to be reliable. Lift pump repacement, bigger fuel lines, etc. And why is it so loud with so little power?

I stepped up from a '96 1500. I was needed the additional hauling capacity as I have 32' trailer I use to haul 5 horses. I've hauled it from Greensboro, NC to Chicago, IL and back on a three day trip with no hassles. The Cummins TurboDeisel handled the mountains of WV without dropping from the posted speeds. The cab is well designed with all controls w/in easy reach.

I bought this truck to tow a fully loaded 34-foot fifth wheel camper in the Appalachia Mountians and she is a willing partner. The Low Range and 4wd make it possible to get the camper in almost anywhere. The 12 valve Cummings Turbo Diesel sounds like a big rig and when matched with the 5 speed manual transmission, you can putt down the highway at low rpms. 3rd gear will climb any highway mountain at 45 mph at full tow. A good contractors cap keeps the ride less bouncy when not runnig with loads. Diesel Fuel costs can swing more than gas. But if you need to tow heavy things, this is a hard truck to beat.

I use this truck for my farming and I tell you the Ram 3500 never let me down. I have a 5 speed manual transmision with 4 wheel drive. I elected to have the V10 engine and it's a monster. Very please with my truck selection and being a old time Dodge man for over 58 years, The Dodge 3500 V10 4x4 is a workhorse always ready to delivery the job task.

I bought a Ram 3500 4x4 diesel and put a utility bed, Mile Marker winch and a complete Banks system on it new. Now 24 years and 256,000 miles later I still love it and planed to keep it. I pull heavy and drive hard. It has gone through 6 automatics and 1 injector pump and only gets about 15 mpg but it will pull 30,000 and run with the best. However in 10/24 I hit a rock wall and totaled it. Even then we came out with only minor injuries thanks to its strength.

The only thing I do not like is the design of the doors. They rise up higher than the roof & catch the wind which makes it noisy in a crosswind. Other than that this truck is a real workhorse & hauls very heavy loads with ease. Mine has the 24 valve Cummins Diesel. Great mileage even with a heavy load. Highly suggest running boards to save the seat wear. If I hadn't gotten them my seats would be completely worn from sliding out all the time. High riding truck so you can easily see over most traffic at intersections. Have had it 8 years & expect to have it at least another 10+.

This has been a good truck for me. My only beef is with the price of parts. The muffler is a "Dealer Only" item, almost $400.00 I wish I would have waited and got the manual transmission.

Bought this vehiclefor hauling eventing horses on the show circuit. Travelled over 12,000 miles from San Antonio to Toronto, Canada and back with many side trips, what a pleasure. Heated leather seats were unbelievable. Not a single mechanical problem with the engine or anything else. Whether back roads or expressway, this baby handled like a dream. Parking was a breeze. The sound system was a life saver on the long hauls. Never felt so safe traveling. I am a 5'2" female. This is the vehicle for any woman who wants the ultimate in safety and comfort in a full size truck.

Last year married into a 2001 Dodge 3500 Dually 4x4. I am very impressed with the power and handling of this truck. Has 180k, and is facing its first repair: the steering (est $2800). It has pulled the stock trailer with 8 horses and 3 tons of hay without a murmer. Its fuel economy is poor empty,(14-15.5) but excellent with a full load (10.5-11). Comfortable to drive totally reliable. Have pulled 2 tons of hay through mud up to the axels. Very good brakes. I've had experience with Ford F250s, and Chev 2500, 3500 and 4500, and it beats them all.

This truck wanders as much as 2 feet from left to right on a straight road. Dodge has no fix, says its just the way it is. I have not had this truck in operation for over 2 weeks now with no resolution to the problem. Dodge will not rent me a vehicle. I have purchased 5 new dodge vehicles in 10 years, but I now considering other manufacturers due to the lack of concern by Dodge to address this situation.
