Hemi, Hemi, Hemi
The 5.7 Hemi is the best thing that ever happened to a pickup. It gives a real boost when you are wanting to get from here to there right now. 4door quadcad, although not quite as spacious as the Ford F150 crew cab, is still plenty roomy for most folks, and the optional flat floor provision makes secure dry storage (for groceries and such) very handy. A recent road trip delivered outstanding mileage, with the trip computer recording 21mpg(!) at one point across Kansas. My truck is a 2005 Ram 1500 SLT quadcab with 2wd and towing package. I like this truck.
Excellent
I have the 4 dr, short bed with a Hemi engine in it and it is great. Good gas mileage and great performance. Have had no problems with it whatsoever. I've had a Ford and Chevy and nothing can compare. I love it a lot and would recommend it not only for its power, but for its comfort and maneuverability. Great! Great! Great!

Satisfied
The overall looks of the 1500 sold me on this truck. It stands out among anything offered today. Dodge has a winner in design, comfort and quality. I reccomend anyone looking at buying a pickup look at Dodge.
Brian's review
Excellent all-around truck for work, commuting, and getting the family around. Very comfortable to drive, with power seating option. Great visibility in poor weather on the interstate as compared to a previous GMC that sat lower to the ground. Tows very well with excellent stability. Corners very well with 20 inch wheel option. Stops on a dime. Never felt more in control when driving a truck. No mechanical problems of any kind with over 47K miles on this truck. I just had the brakes checked at my last service interval and they had about 60% remaining on the pads, so it's definitely a low maintenance vehicle. The 4.7L V-8 is adequate, but the Hemi would be even more fun.
23 mpg stock
I traded in an aging Jeep Wrangler for this when Dodge was doing the employee discount option for anyone. I am still learning how to park this monster even after having it for several months. Just today, my average mileage (mostly hiway) on this all stock truck was 23 MPG. I was shocked! The onboard computer was indicating 17 MPG. Keep your foot out of the throttle and this truck will get decent mileage. When accelerating, I typically do not exceed 2000 RPM. Believe me, this is hard to do since Hemi sounds soo nice at wide open throttle.
