Neon interior
I enjoy this car very much, it's got power when I need it, runs fairly quite ging down the highway. However, the interior can leave you with desire though. The side to side room(for us long legged people), is not quite enough, and the gas and brake pedal could use a little more seperation. But after 4 months, thats really all I can complain about.
Sleeper
I was totally sold on this vehicle by the different car magazine's that did features on it. I traded-in a 2000 Mustang GT that was putting out around 320hp to the engine and I'm looking forward to modifying the SRT-4.

Dodge SRT-4
After viewing numerous SRT-4s that I have had the pleasure of driving, and racing, I have to admit, the SRT-4 is by far the greatest value for the money. I was so impressed I bought one myself.
This car rocks!
I decided to buy the SRT4 over the WRX. Test driving a WRX with STi exhaust I noticed more turbo lag and less acceleration. The SRT4 is a mean machine when it comes to performance. This car can out accelerate and corner more expensive cars. It looks great too. Inside the interior is a little better than a regular Neon with chrome trim gauges, silver and carbon fiber accent pieces, and boost gauge. The stock stereo sounds suprisingly good. Gas mileage is average, 22-30mpg, but considering the power this car has that is very good. Overall I am very satisfied with this car.
srt-4
Just purchased it 2 days ago and have 190 miles on the odometer. Very fast, although i HAVE YET BEEN ABLE TO SPIN THE WHEELS (maybe the LSD will not permit that). Car is very comfortable, and I love the racing seats. Brakes stop excellent. Paint is almost flawless, but the sound system could be better-price is GREAT!
great car
The 2004 Dodge Neon SXT is one of the best economy cars around. I have a 2003 Honda Civic LX and the Neon beats the Civic. The Civic is a bit more luxurious, but has a bland character. The Neon is fun to driver, it has nice personality and is very refined for '04. I paid 13,550 for my Neon, but i paid 16,870 for my Civic and i enjoy my Neon so much more. Its comfortable, powerful, great audio system, smooth, quiet, big windows.
Your Best American Deal
The car's only short-coming is that the smooth Automatic Tranny has only a 3- speed gear set-up. The car is quick, nimble and performs great in traffic around the suburbs . But the gearing causes the motor to Rev very high on the interstates/ parkways, and engine noise is apparent. The "top" speed, therefore, is under 80 mph. Any fuel economy from this nice 16 valve is probably lost above 62 Mph. Mine is a basic low end model only w/ options of A/C and AutoTrans, and SO much is already standard (ie: excellent sound system) A real value despite the high-speed issues.
More than I expected
This is probably the best decision I have ever made regarding a new car. When I first drove it, I noticed the car had a kind of "let's go" personalty. Very eager to accelerate. This has only gotten better with 9500 miles under it's belt. The handling is very responsive and the ride is firm but not harsh. My particular car has a nice Black Leather interior that surprises my friends with it's luxurious look and feel. The 6-Disc Changer in the dash is a cool setup that sounds great. And the new looks definately got my attention. If you are in the market for a great little fun to drive car this is it!
my new car
inside seats should be made with better materials
A Sleeper, the R/T is Great
This car has a great suspension, tires, brakes, handling, design, and stereo. Just good are seats (cloth), instuments, controls, finish. NOTHING is bad on this car. A best buy at discounted prices, made in America, and adding two things: a front tower sway bar and a replacement K&N air filter adds perfection to performance for less than $100. A great car!
