At least it lasted till payoff
Bought the Journey SXT AWD used with 50,000 miles, we went with a dodge bc we own a Ram and never had to do anything major,the only thing the Journey had going wrong around 95,000 miles the transmission would jerk going down hills we did a filter and transmission fluid change and rear end dope,but still jerk then realized when we bought new tires for the front we were suppose to change all 4 at the same time, then jerking in the transmission went away for awhile.Mileage went on up fast forward to 305,000 it now sounds like I have Chewbacca riding along in the 3rd row🙄🙄 found out 4 days after paying her off it’s the Torque Converter and so now Eva is sitting waiting….for a new torque converter or new home

We owned 2 Dodge Journey and just purchased a 2018 We never had a problem with our 2013 and don't anticipate any issues with our new 2018. We love the Journey. As seniors, we look for dependability at a reasonable price. The Journey is our go to guy.

Do not purchase this Lemon
I have owned many vehicles over the years and I still have many connections from the time I worked in the auto industry. It is now understood that all vehicles are built to last 10 years and many can go well past 300,000 k/m, but not the Dodge Journey. When my son needed a vehicle to get back and forth to college, our thought was that this 2013 Journey was perfectly priced for a student and reliable enough to get him through his college year. The issues started immediately. On his way back from college in Sept of 2019 every warning light came on, bells were ringing and the dashboard went dead (no mileage registering, speedometer stopped working), but the radio still worked, LOL. After 15 months, 3 new batteries, 2 new alternators, a new fuse box and a couple of other costly attempts, the dealership still cannot fix the problem for longer than 1 month. Now the vehicle won't start and we are told its going to be at least another $1,700 repair. Chrysler's response, "its out of warranty, you are responsible for any repairs on the vehicle" end of story. Sadly, I cannot fault the dealership, they have been professional and are just as frustrated as we are. However, after spending over $10,000 of repairs and in order to get it working again, another $1,700 plus. We are forced to walk away from the vehicle and let it go for scrap. I didn't expect much from Chrysler, but I thought they would have offered us some kind of incentive to get us into another Chrysler/Dodge vehicle to prove that they are not Lemons (I would have even listened to an offer on a Demo, New, Used, etc.). From this moment on I will tell this experience to anyone who will listen. DO NOT BUY ANY CHRYSLER VEHICLES and if you currently own a new one, sell it before the warranty expires.

AWESOME
This car is a breeze to drive but also really has some power to it when you floor the gas pedal. I am a rideshare driver and my riders comment all the time on how comfortable, roomy, and smooth-riding my car is and my ratings have gone way up since we bought this car. Great investment, you will not be disappointed!!

2013 Dodge Journey R/T
This is a great value for what is offered in the way of options. However, just like every other American vehicle I've purchased, things that shouldn't break often times do. Things that have gone wrong or have broken on this less than four year old vehicle: 1. Nav/Radio 8.4 Uconnect had to be replaced at 30,000 miles, stopped working. 2. The plastic piece that covers the metal components on outside part of the front seats (driver and passenger) broke. Cheap plastic and poor design. 3. At 73,000 miles, the torque converter failed and the transmission needed to be overhauled. Vehicle had to be towed to the dealership for repair and took four days before it was returned. Good points: Everything that needed to be fixed or replaced was under factory warranty = no monetary cost to me only frustration and aggravation. If I had known that these items were going to fail/break I would have traded the vehicle in at 36,000 miles because that is the useful life of a Dodge vehicle.
