7 Years No Issues
I bought the truck brand new on April 13th, 2011. I just sold it on April 17th, 2018. I bought two sets of tires, had the brakes done once, and had the transmission serviced once. The truck never gave me any issues.

Great Value
Purchased primarily as a tow vehicle. Considered all of the full size trucks and decided on Silverado based on incentives and maturity of design. Liked the look of the GMC a little better but got the best deal on the Chevy. No issues in 8 months, everything functions as it should. Surprisingly quiet for a truck. All Star package gave me everything I needed (5.3 V-8 & tow package) at a substantial discount.

Very Happy
Just picked up my 2011 Silverado LT 4x4 Extended Cab Z-71. It's got the 5.3 Vortec engine in it and it is incredible. The truck has more power than I know what to do with, and is incredibly responsive in every way. Steering is tight, brakes are firm and react the way I expect them to, and the suspension is not mushy at all. The interior is comfy, but the dashboard seems kind of cheap to me. I suppose the LTZ is probably a little nicer. I got the All-Star package on mine, so it has the dual zone climate control, and the push-button 4x4 along with several other amenities.
My 2011 Silverado Extended Cab
I do love my truck but I have to warn everyone - don't be fooled by fuel economy on the sticker. Tried my best to get high MPG and most I've got so far is 16.1 MPG and this is a brand new 2011 truck. There also was some defect in the paint on the roof but the dealer fixed that right away. I really do love the truck but I hate the fuel economy since I expected more and I need to get a storage box for the bed since there is very little room under the back seat. I have the Allstar and the Z71 packages and wouldn't get the truck without those options. Motor has a lot of power. Truck drives smooth and quiet (with windows closed). I have the 6.6 foot bed but it didn't show up in options.
2011 Regular Cab LS Trim 4.3 Ltr V-6, 4 spd trans
An old school, single cab pickup truck. Forget the leather seats, video screens and wi-fi hot spots -- pure utility, nothing fancy. The V-6 is a little underpowered, but the overall truck is a stalwart and a great daily driver. I use it to haul my mountain bikes, kayaks and dogs. After 6 years and 75,000 miles, I have never had a problem. Gas mileage is 17 mpg in town and 22 on the highway. The ride is solid, quiet and comfortable. There are no road rattles. My only complaint is the headlights aren't water tight. I have replaced the gaskets, but they keep filling up with moisture and fogging out. There is actually a name for this: GM goldfish bowl syndrome. Unfortunately, the problem didn't crop up until after the warranty expired. Aside from that, I think this will be a 200,000 mile vehicle with ease. The more I drive the truck, the better it gets. I am looking forward to the next six years!
Excellent truck
I do not have the LTZ, I have an LT Z71 4x4 with the 5.3 L and 6-speed tranny (3.08 rear end). I have had the truck just under two months and have 6200 miles on it and am very pleased so far. All of these miles have come with a 900-1000# payload in the back (permanent vet box) and the truck gets 15.5-16 mpg with this setup (I do not drive very conservatively). The truck will downshift into 5th and 4th on steep grades. With the z71 suspension and the 1000# payload, I have not had to add any suspension reinforcement. The rear end sits down a bit, but not even to level, let alone noticeably squatting. Towing heavy trailers with the payload does cause trailer sway, but I don't tow much.
Best Chevy truck yet!
I typically buy a new truck every 10 years; this 2011 replaced a 2000 Silverado. The new one sits taller, and is a bit bigger overall. It has more power, and feels more capable. First fill-up yielded 15.3 MPG, in a mix of city, highway, and ranch use. The LT truck has a long bed, Z71 package, 5.3 V8, 18" wheels, built-in trailering; in short just about everything I need to haul ranch stuff around. I did add the Ranch Hand replacement front end, lighted headache rack, and new tool box. It's ready to work, and ready to play.
6 speed auto trans
2012 Silverado - the 6 speed auto trans is a no-go ! Shift points are in the middle of right hand turn speed. Its a poor transmission, and jerky. You wont like the 6 speed auto...
2011 chevy silverado LT 4x4 5.3L
I have had this truck for a month now and have about 1100 miles on it. No problems so far. Getting 15.9mpg average and most is city driving. Great power, great looking, and great fit and finish sold me. I keep my vehicles about 10yrs and after the last silverado I owned(2002) turned 132000 miles(trouble free) I decided to trade up to the crew cab with all-star package. This truck is a huge step up in performance and features. Especially like the bluetooth feature and the updated interior quality. You really can't go wrong as these trucks hold their value and are very capable vehicles.
5.3 aluminum block active mgmt. engine look out
I have the Z71 package all star edition. Which properly equipped mean rancho shocks hd cooling hd trans cooler hd engine cooling and skid plates. I bought this because my son in law is driving an 04 not hd but 4wd with over 250,000 at the time. Maintenance issues because he doesn't, but engine was using about 1qt. to 1.5 per 3000 ran well, and frankly this 11 Silverado I bought with 60000 miles was less than a comparable Dodge with a 5.7. I noticed at approx. 85,000 this 11 was using a quart of oil in under 1000 miles on oil change. Then suddenly at about 90,000 and truck over 3 years old it was missing so badly all warning lights were flashing before I got it to GM dealer 10 miles from my home. Told sr. mechanic, who is not only a good person but a superior mechanic. About 20 minutes after limped into shop he came in handed me my keys and said #1 cylinder plug insulator was cracked, showed me the old plug and said, these 5.3's have a known issue with the #1 and #7 oil rings going bad because of active engine mgt. system is faulty and when engine goes into 4 cylinder mode the oil sits on top of the piston creating an extraordinary build up of carbon and it breaks the inside insulator in the plugs. Told me around 4000.00 to re ring engine I carried plugs with me for the next 4 months trying to get my extended warranty I purchased with the truck to cover the repair. I had to change #1 #7 #2 #4 plugs in one day, all fouled. Called the attorney general of my state had all documents for oil used, and I believe 10 plugs in total. Very quickly the warranty company called telling me the had authorized an entire new GM engine. Another 3 yr 100,000 warranty now, so I better get her gone before the new engine warranty is up. I was told by 2 GM dealers over 100 miles apart they had re rung so many 5.3 engines they could now do them eyes closed. Shame on GM.
Impressive Truck
This is my first Silverado and it exceeds all of my expectations. The ride and handling is far superior to the mid-size pickup I traded in on it. The interior is comfortable and very roomy- I can fit six adults easily. Power with the 5.3L and 6 speed is plentiful and makes this truck fun to drive. It gets identical fuel mileage to my former mid-size too. The frequent shifting of the 6 speed took some getting used to but the shifts are mostly unnoticeable and power is always on tap. The autotrac 4wd is fantastic in the snow. Overall I'm very impressed with the truck.
In 2011, Best Bang For Buck, 2011 Silverado LT 4x4 Crew Cab 5.3L
I put a good 10,000 miles on it while in Alabama and it performed well. The real test was to come - I had it shipped to Alaska, upon moving, and have put 6,000 Alaska miles on it since being up here during one of the worst winters in history. I have to say, this truck performed flawlessly. Although, per the dealership here, it is suggested to not use AUTO 4x4 as it will eventually ruin the 4x4 - Just keep it in 4 High in inclement conditions. Ice, Snow, Mud, Slush, not a problem for the Silverado. Ya, the interior sucks compared to Ford, but I dont care to much. Love the huge center console/elbow rest. Gas mileage in AL and AK have been consistent at 15.4 on cruise, all HWY miles.
Big Red an all around man's truck
Runs great in comfort on hwy or logging roads. Canopy keeps tools or camping gear nice and dry. Mileage is average for this size truck, but is highly dependent on the actual octane of the gas you buy. Have achieved 19 mpg hwy, but normally around 14 mpg. Towing travel trailer drops mpg by about 3 mpg. Blue tooth in this truck is outstanding. It's clear and can be turned up nicely. Sirius satellite radio works well on the hwy, not so well in the back woods.

Gm doesn't make trucks anymore.
My 2011 ltz Silverado has less than 50,000 KM. I replaced a front wheel bearing. All of the oem rims leak air. All warning lights will now turn on and all guages will go to zero including the tach and speedometer(a common problem, with no answer) It has a 5.3 that gets 15 MPG. I've been a GM fan for a long time but I think GM stopped making trucks back in the 90's

Maybe its just bad luck.
Bought a 2011 Crew Cab LT Silverado 3 years ago and have put almost $6000 in repairs already. The truck had only 59000 miles on it and no rust very good looking truck. After 9 months the engine had to be replaced had bad piston rings. Had front wheel bearings replaced and a wire that affected the towing hookup. Just had to put another $500 into it. Still owe $10k on it but think the damn thing is cursed. Only at 80000 miles on it now.

You’ll eventually hear #1 and 7
Have owned this truck for 6 years with no issues until I hit 160,000 miles. Rough idle had me take it to the shop where I learned of the infamous issues the 5.3 has with number 1 and 7 cylinders. Tried everything except a rebuild which is estimated at 3k.

Excellent Choice
Have had truck for 5 months. First truck I have owned but won't be my last as this truck is everything and more than I expected. The ride/comfort is equal to luxury cars I have owned and currently own. The best MPG I have been able to attain is just shy of 20 going 72 MPH for long stretches- but I'm not complaining; I didn't buy the truck for MPG reasons.
Great Ride!
I’m coming out of a Toyota Tundra and can honestly say that we made the right choice by going with the Chevy! It has so many nice features but it’s the ride that got me hooked! I do a lot of trailering and this truck pulls like a dream!

Perfect Truck...I'm Proud to Own It!
This truck exceeds all of my expectations! The best value I could ever expect to get out of vehicle as I can drive it for 5-7 years with the confidence that there will not be any major repair costs and will still have a high resale value when I decide to purchase a new truck! The only improvement I would recommend is to increase the storage in the front, actually add some storage in the back and bring back the A/C vents in the console for the rear passengers, other than that, this truck is PERFECT!

NICE TRUCK!`
I enjoy the ride quality as well as the glances that I get when cruising through town. The exterior design has to be the best out of all the trucks that I compared it to. The interior needs some work, it is plain and boring not enough thought and time has gone into the design and layout. I live 12 miles from the nearest town and I travel daily on the interstate and this appears to be affecting the brakes on my truck significantly! The vehicle is brand new only 3 months old and has about 7000 miles on it and I have had to have the ceramic disk brakes replaced TWICE on it. I will admit that sometimes I tend to have a heavy foot and really push the vehicle but this is not often.
2011 Chevy with 6.2
have had this truck over a year now. Love it, has 11500 miles on it. I seem to be the only one that does a review on it to have the bigger 6.2 V8 insted of the smaller 5.3 v8.(had two 5.3 before not that great of a motor, no power). Let me tell you it does not get good gas mileage. 13 in city and 16.5 on highway. I knew this when i got it. The ride is great and the BOSE stereo sounds great. have pull 4 ATVs and all the camping stuff that weighed about 8000 lbs. still passed other trucks like they were standing still and still had more power left. 403 HP is all i have to say.
LT with 5.3 6 Speed Transmission
The Silverado is a great truck. I had a 2010 F150 with the 5.4 V8 before the Silverado. I admit I trade a lot, and had planned to keep the F150, but there were things happening with the F150 that made me think it was going to have issues in the long run. Thinking about 60k+ miles worried me. When I started looking at a new Truck I looked at the F150, Ram, and the Silverado. The Silverado seems to be a more rounded package for me. For less money I got a lot more truck (The All Star Package) Chevy also had some rebates with the rewards card and 0% financing. The trucks bluetooth seems to work better than the Sync found in Ford
I hate my 2011 silverado
I have had noting but disappointments from my 2011 silverado i purchased new. From the bed rails that dent from falling acorns to brakes that overheat when the truck is empty, simply exiting the freeway???? you cant pump gas into it because they changed the down angle but no gas stations around me are updated. the traction control button stopped working at 39,000 miles, so I took it appart and found it was super glued together from the factory or dealer I dont know which but definitely cracked/broken plastic bits obviously glued back together???? (are you kidding me??? no I am not) when I asked costumer service they have nothing.
Great truck. Period.
I have owned my 2011 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LTZ now for two years (bought second hand) and I have to say that I'm very happy with my purchase. The truck offers all the creature features I wanted and gives enough space for the family on long trips. This truck in the 38,000 miles that I've driven it has only required the routine oil changes, set of tires, and new shocks. The 5.3 V8 offers plenty of power for towing a 18ft fishing boat; for a truck, the fuel economy is good and averages around 17mpg in the city (mix of freeway & city streets). I will say it took a bit to get use to the 6-speed transmission as the shift points are different then the 4-speed I had in my 2002 Silverado, but with that said, the transmission does not hunt for gears and is quite responsive when needed.

Really good truck
Have owned since new. Has been basically problem free. Other than the drivers outside door handle breaking off, and the Mass Air Flow Sensor needing a good cleaning, which I did myself, the vehicle has been trouble free. Tires and batteries as required after 56000 miles….no complaints. Towing package, and 5.3L engine make for comfortable light trailering.

Has never let me down
Not Happy at all!
This truck is not what I thought it was! I bought it new in Texas and the gas mileage has been the worst since I had it. It burns a lot on the highway and it does not pull my little 5x8 trailer well at all. I can almost see the gas gauge move on the highway. Oh, but don't let me turn the AC on, it's really a problem then. It does not have any pick up or passing speed at all. When I press the accelerator, it barely moves until I press down hard, then it opens up like the pedal is stuck. Someone said that the AFM could be the problem, but guess what...the warranty is expired! Also, the seat is not adjustable to go up and down. I do need a truck but this one is a problem. Any suggestions?
don't buy the 6 speed transmission!
love the looks and ride but the 6 speed "learning" transmission is crap. it jerks and makes noise during low speed gear changes. GM says its "normal" and will not repair.
Don't buy the 6 speed transmission!
At less then 100 miles on a new 2011 the transmission developed a noise and it jolts during low speed shifts. taken back to the twice and service manager says nothing can be done to fix it. $36K plus tax, owned for less than 2 months, and only 1K miles on it and I hate driving my new truck.
Water leakage
Very dissapointed ive seen it on one truck I looked at and now mine is starting to get it water is leaking from the top of the cab and going down the rear frame on cab and you can see brown water marks , when I called Chevy all they said was "its out of warranty" very dissapointed in manufacturing which is very poor

Country Beater
This 2000 Chevy Silverado long bed is exactly what I wanted for an old farm truck for lumber yard trips & tool hauling.
Good Truck
Have had the truck about 8 months.
Not fun to drive!
If you want a truck that rides n feels like a Cadillac and tows like a champ(nothing more) buy a silverado. I've had my truck for a year and love it for road trips and towing. Aside from that...yawn. If you want a truck that will JUMP when you hit the gas, get sideways on demand, and still tow when needed buy a Nissan! Sincerely, sad silverado owner
Silverado
the 2011 chevy Silverado crew cab is a must have Truck . the ride is very smooth for a full size Truck
So far so good
I have the 6 speed tranny and have 3000 miles so far with no problems and no noise. I love the truck and received a killer deal on a dealer promo. My only complaint was with the onstar remote access app. I can unlock and lock the doors. But every time I try the remote start it tells me the keys cant be in the truck. The problem is every time ive tried it the keys were NOT in the truck 3 calls to onstar has not solved the problem. Other then that one thing I have never owned a nicer vehicle. Love the all star package and the blue tooth calls are far better then the ones I had before with a 1200 dollar after market head unit. I would like to see spray in bed liners standard. But great truck!!
San Gabriel Silverado
I especially like the ride height of 20" wheels and 5.3 liter V8 engine. Acceleration from a standstill to merge with freeway traffic is disappointing, however. Styling and blue color are still head turners. Six speed transmission and manual gear selection were a plus.

Love my chevy
I recently bought a used 2011 Silverado 1500 4x4. I live on a steep incline drive way to my home. With the 4x4 I can drive up my hill at a snail pace it’s awesome. I bought my truck it had 60,000 miles I’ve got a little over 64,000 now I’ve hauled gravel several times fully loaded bed with ease I’m impressed how well it handled with a load. Only qualm I have is the rust issue I have had. I have to keep on it I’ve treated the frame under carriage. And done some body rust repair. But over all I would recommend this model truck year.

a truck for a life time.
ive owned 6 other trucks in my life this is by far the best.
