My Giant Cadillac!!

I named my title that way because those were the words I had said described to the feel and the comfort as my husband and I first took one out for a test- drive. The suspension is smooth and the response in the handling is amazing as I've never driven a pickup truck in my life!! If I found it easy to drive than any woman can drive this thing!! The first 2003-04 Silverado wasn't a Z71 package like the one we ended up buying, but what a thrill to drive in any Silverado!! We love it and we're both glad we've done our homework before settling on driving a Chevy truck!! Now I'm looking to buy my own Chevy trunk in the very near future for my own thrills!

Great Truck!

I love this truck! I replaced a 5yr.- old compact pickup because I needed more power - boy did I get it. The truck has all the power and acceleration I need, along with car- like comfort. I've taken two fairly long trips already (over 300 miles each) and I've yet to grow tired of driving. I haven't used it for towing yet, but I have no doubt it will have all the towing power I need. I added a tonneau cover to the box, and that seemed to improve the gas mileage a little. Right now, I'm getting about 17.5mpg on the highway at 75-80mph - that's better than my old 4-banger, even with the higher acceleration.

This truck is so much more reliable than anything I've driven before, which include 2 Ford Rangers, a Ford Expedition, and a Toyota pickup. I haven't had one single problem or issue with it. It needs to be serviced every 3000 miles, but once I went 8,000 miles without an oil change (oops) but it can handle it. On occasion the brakes make noise but I'm not the most conservative driver and I haven't had new breaks installed since I bought it. One time I noticed something was squeaking on the inside cabin, again, this will happen with pretty much every truck, depending on how and where you drive it. Don't use this thing to commute, although it can handle it, it only gets 15-16 mpg on streets

Beauty is skin deep

I must admit, I took a look at the Silverado SS and it is a nice looking truck. It looks mean, has 4WD and has a bed you can actually use. After driving it, it just felt like a more powerful Silverado. This is not a sport truck. I was actually considering trading in my Honda Element for this bad boy....not after driving it. It drives OK but it's bouncy and jolting at the same time. If you need something that will haul a lot and has a lot of speed, I guess this is a good choice. But compared to my Honda Element, it feels cheap and doesn't handle nearly as good...even if the Chevy does look and sound meaner.

I have owned over 8 cars in the last 10 years. I traded in my 99 Ford Ex XLT SUV for this truck and have been very happy with it. The ride is super nice, no bumps or engine nosie, unlike on my Ford. Plus it shifts smooth while towing at high speeds, unlike my Ford. Plus has lots of power to get moving in traffic.

The complete front seat & compartment s/u on the 2003 model was 100% better, including lighting, ashtray, drink holders, etc. Also, front seat was NOT 100% 'bucket'[Much better I think] 2003 had 3 DC Sockets; 2004~~two only.

Great truck. No auto track buzz out of floor slight on 4 wheel stick and fan noise out of headliner, probably from dash. Will take to dealer for these, but these are the only ones. Great in the snow, pavement, dirt, and ice. I live up high in the mountains and it is always reliable.

5.3 litre engine is good balance for normal driving conditions and towing light trailer. (under 3500 lbs gross weight) Almost rides like a passenger carD

I would never buy another truck unless it's GM quality. Nothing compares to the Chevy Silverado Z71. Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda should all just give up and find another market.

This is my second Z71, both were good, but this is this best. I have everything but the leather seats and with the way I play, I didn't want it. Performance is A1, sound system A1, dual heating/air A1, can't say enough about the way the whole truck is setup. Best yet in my book!! Had one of the first ford F150 three dr's and it couldn't come close to this truck. Need to pass, see ya in my dust!!
