Decent Car
We purchased this car almost 8 years ago, and it has been very reliable over the years. The engine runs strong, although it isn't the most powerful engine out there. It gets better fuel mileage than I anticipated, and with 189,000 miles on the clock, there are no interior rattles or squeaks and no exterior rust. Recently, we have had problems with the vehicle overheating and the coolant leaks at various places (gaskets are rotting). The steering and suspension can be a little frightening, at highway speeds there is noticeable vibration and grip around turns isn't good, even for a car of this size. Brakes always feel weak, even when replaced, and will begin to pulse on long trips.
Lumina LTZ is a best buy
I bought this car for $200 under invoice with 6 miles on the odometer and have enjoyed every mile I put on it since. This car outperforms many cars priced $10K higher... if people didn't have to compensate for their shortcomings with a "name-brand" car, they would save a lot of money! When looking to buy a new car, I researched engines and found that the 3.8 L V6 was highly thought of and I now know why - it is a blast to drive and very reliable. This car has made me a GM customer for life.

The LTZ Truth
Nice powerful, smooth running, smooth riding , very roomy machine. A pleasure.
Good Family Car
Our Lumina has taken care of our families transportation need thorugh thick and thin for the past five years. The car has given us few problems considering the abuse we put it through. The car seats six plus the low end torque really gets you moving. When ever the weather is bad our family prefers the Lumina, because it "just feels more secure."
Love my Lumina!
I have been "nearly totally and completely" happy with my 1999 Chevrolet Lumina. The only change I would sugget is that the seats are not sufficiently comfortable for long-haul driving.
