Best midsize truck

I really wanted a Tacoma, but everyone I drove I was really disappointed with. The Colorado is just such a better ride, and a better engine and transmission, and I’m not taking it off road at all so it was really hard to justify getting a Tacoma. I would love to see these Colorado’s earn a similar reputation for reliability as the Tacoma. For close to $40,000 they certainly should be built with high quality parts. I read a lot of reviews before making this purchase, after about 3000 miles here are my opinions: Pros: engine and transmission are awesome, the 8 speed shifts perfect, lots of tourque, it sounds great and just feels really strong. This is the best part of the truck, I’ve heard complaints about these transmissions but so far it’s been great. Interior is nice and easy to use and has more space then other mid size tricks, family of 4 plus a dog fit in it fine. So far I’ve had no issues with anything, everything operates just as it should and it’s very enjoyable to drive this truck. Cons: the seat is hard. It’s fine for around town but I’m worried about it on a long drive. I doesn’t have the resale of a Tacoma. Again I’d love to see these trucks earn a reputation similar to Toyota because i think it’s a great truck and I’ve always loved Chevy trucks.

Tranmission issues

Transmission has numerous issues. Irregular shifting when accelerating, decelerating, going up hills. If you don't come to complete stop and accelerate, the transmission bucks and feels like you missed a gear or two. Service representative called it a "skip shift" transmission as opposed to sequential gear transmission. Dealer states that GM designed the transmission this way and that is the way the 8 gear transmission functions. There is nothing that can be done to fix the problems. Worst transmission that I have had in numerous vehicles owned. Don't buy this vehicle or one that comes with an 8 gear transmission. Have lost confidence in GM and Gm products.

Great Truck

If you are a mid size person, this is a mid size truck for you. So far this truck has hauled for me effortlessly it has great power. I got a 2wd and it still goes great in the snow and I live in a place were the road's are bad in the winter "southeastern Ky". Up and down hills twisting curves. The trans seems a little stiff when it shifts if you drive aggressive. If you drive slow and normal it shifts great,. Great gas mileage 22mpg here in the mountains. I think its the best truck for this area.

Dream Truck

My 2019 Pacific Blue crew cab is everything I could want in a truck and then some. The interior room is incredibly spacious as a 6'3'' 230lb broad-shouldered man I really appreciate the comfort of the interior. I had the dealer install custom pearl white leather which makes it easier to clean and even more comfortable. This truck handles like a car, is ultra-smooth and coddling on the road and falls silent in the cabin while driving! Everything operates with simplicity in this truck and I feel confident to handle any maneuvering even with its great length. The model is a WT model but is loaded with conveniences including a power seat, best in class Apple Carplay, big screen, power windows, power locks, remote locks, and the tailgate even gently goes down by itself without slamming. With all these luxurious I saved tons of money not getting a high model (but that's fine if you want extra options or off road ready.) Which by the way I took my wife, dogs, and a bedful of outdoor equipment down some steep rocky trails down to the river here in the Texas Hill Country, and had full confidence and capability to conquer them all. It's our new adventure and truly a dream truck! :)

Purchased brand new 2020 WT from dealership in November. Two months and 7000km later the check engine light is flashing. Towed truck to dealer, 4 out of the 6 lifters in upper engine replaced. Question the longevity of the vehicle, Canada does not have lemon law.
