A Great Car That I Just Couldn't Let GO!
I recently turned in a Cyber Gray 2020 Bolt EV for trade in cash to offset the big price tag of my 2022 BMW X4M Competition. In retrospect. it was a dumb move since the BMW barely gets 20 MPG. Although MPG was a factor, I soon found myself missing and regretting selling my 2020 Bolt EV. Two weeks later, I looking at the new refreshed 2022 Bolt EV on the internet. I soon found myself purchasing a new 2021 Bolt EV. It was heavily discounted because it retained the old body style vs the new refresh. With $14K Federal and manufacturers incentives off the $40K price tag, I simply couldn't resist. Besides, I simply adore the fun factor in driving the Chevy Bolt EV! And best off all instead of putting $65/ week of gas in the New BMW, I can motor on past all gas stations with a smile in my 2021 Bolt EV. Yes, I love my BMW, but now only have to drive it to work 2 days per week. So the Bolt EV is not the blingiest off all EVS, but it is fun to drive, reliable, has a spacious cabin with some pretty good technology and get way beyond the estimated 259 miles per charge. Between my former 2020 and now the new 2021 Bolt EV, I consistently average 280 miles per charge. My 45 mile round trip commute is 1/2 highway and the remaining stop and go traffic. In summary you can't go wrong with the Chevy Bolt EV. It's a Nerdy, fun, reliable and addicting car to won. Go get one!

Once the honeymoon is over you will realize...
We test drove and purchased our Bolt Premium in the spring and it seemed great. Then the first heatwave come and the need to use the AC was amplified by the lack of rook interior insulation making it a necessary battery / range draining option. Then on long drives the seats quickly become uncomfortable and cheap feeling. Then came the battery issues, first required updated software that reduced the max charge to 80%, then shortly afterwards came the "reduced propulsion" warning and scary loud beeping, dealership reported the need for a new battery that took 3 weeks, GM refuses to cover all costs for a rental to replace their defective product, next up denial of "repurchase request" or otherwise known as the GM buy back program, so I sold it to carmax after only 2 years of lack luster EV experience. To be honest I wanted to like this car but with so many negatives and it being our first GM vehicle ( This was my 8th new car purchase) as well as last, I have to honestly say it should have never came to market. oh yeah just a heads up the run flat tires feel and person horribly and as with almost all Ev's on the market there is no spare tire. I guess Ev's don't get flats... I was more then happy to take a value loss and sell this lack luster of an EV to Carmax...

Way Better Than Expect
Bottom Line: Way better and more fun to drive than I ever imagined. I’m in love with my first ever EV. Pros: Acceleration!!! Not Tesla fast but very good nonetheless. The instant torque and one peddle driving are the future. Interior has a modern style without over doing it. It has way more room than it looks. Plenty of room in the back hatch for most day to day hauling without the need to put down the seats. Range is fantastic. I have a 30 mile commute to and from work. I can do several days without recharging (I have a Level 2 Charger installed in my garage). I do not feel the range anxiety like I thought I would. Love the layout of all the technology. The big center screen in beautiful and clear as is the instrument cluster. Someone at Chevy put a lot of thought into this car. Apple Play works flawlessly. The money I’m saving on gas!!! I was spending $300 a month on my weekly commute on gas! Now I’m spending $25 a month on the electricity!!! That’s almost my entire monthly car payment in savings. :) Cons: Seat cushion is somewhat thin and gets slightly uncomfortable on long rides. The upgrade rubber floor mats do not cover the floor very well. I’d suggest you get the regular carpet floor mats and upgrade to a laser cut/custom fit aftermarket floor mat set. Wish the LT model came with rear cup holders. I consider those standard. All very small complaints overall. Get one now!!!

Great entry level EV!
We absolutely love our 2021 Chevy Bolt! This is an entry level electric vehicle that is affordable. There have been problems with the battery pack, but GM has assured us that our pack will be replaced with an 8 year warranty, so we are happy with it. It's a great "around the town" vehicle. In the two years we have owned it, our total maintenance cost has been $20. That was for a tire rotation at 7500 miles. We couldn't be happier!
