2026 Cadillac LYRIQ Consumer Reviews

2024 Cadillac Lyriq Lux 3 - Blown Away!
I purchased a 2024 Lyriq after holding back on the 2023 Debut edition. Most reviews were negative, especially those about bugs with the vehicle’s software. GM must have taken those reviews to heart, because the 2024 edition is a whole different story. Clean, intuitive interface, an amazing amount of technology, screen customizations that personalize your car, and a total pleasure to drive. And so far not a single bug. Given past experiences with other GM vehicles, I am amazed as to how GM was able to build a marvel of a vehicle like this. I am very demanding when it comes to selecting a vehicle, and I can say the Cadillac Lyriq Lux 3 is a winner.

Accident waiting to happen!
Bought our Lyriq Sport 3 in Sept 2024. Was in love with the looks, comfort ect. Early on when backing out of the drive in the rain the car made a very hard stop. It was like I hit something. I got out and looked around and saw nothing. Inch by inch with constant braking I final backed enough to leave. Found that this is a common occurrence with Lyriqs. Now driving home early this month in perfect conditions my car at 45mph made a very hard brake to a complete stop. I took it into the service dept and they found nothing. This happened with stuttered braking and the screen flashing today. Back to the dealership. Have driven it 5400 miles so far. I do not feel safe driving this anymore. Horrible experience!

POOR BACK UP CAMERA
Do not like the rear view camera the mercedes is much better. It is not clear and it is confusing. The garage door button does not open from the rear view window. Iwould prefer. That the warning signal would be a sound signal instead of the seat vibrating. The screen is not large nor clear enough, look at the wiew the mercedees suv gives

Optimistic
Chronology: Gave $100 deposit back in 2023. Long delay in production volume created a move to 3rd Tesla (Model Y). Still had interest in the Lyriq, but initial issues prompted another delay. Found used 2023 Genesis GV60 & owned that car a total of 3 months. Did not meet my criteria, but was able to trade for CPO Mercedes EQS 580. A delightful car to use & many positive features in the 2022 version. Owned for 1 ½ years & decided the trade value was in a sweet spot for the next EV. Had kept my eyes on the Lyriq during all this time & decided the best trim level was the Luxury 2 or Sport 2. As this was my 1st Caddie, liked the Luxury bling of more shiny trim. Interior wise also liked the subtle throw back to Cadillacs way back. Crystal white exterior & gray Santorini interior also my choice as I had the white interior in several cars. (Hint) Use interior ceramic coat & interior seating surfaces much easier to maintain. Going on a month of ownership & have worked out the configurations that meet my use. Not much mileage yet, but charging @ home is same as other evs except faster than the Mercedes by a bit. As shown by a variety of testers, DC charging is not the most robust, but adequate in my use case. Super Cruise certainly was a surprise in my own implementation! As long as mapped road… wow. Used it in a strong rain storm to check validity & was delighted, but cautious for failure. Seats are comfortable for my average frame, but message is at best minimal as a function. Not as good as Mercedes, but equal to Genesis. Also tested the Optiq & liked its functionality. Actually, a good offering, but seemed a bit too small for my tastes. Show-stopper was no CarPlay, which the Lyriq still has! Bravo Cadillac! The UI on the Lyriq being Google Based seems quite robust, but not much need for the Playstore, etc. Lyriq performance is also a good showing of initial ramping of acceleration, then boom as speed increases. Steering, suspension evoke Cadillac thoughts of earlier years (my memory), yet still good across the driving experience for my tastes. Glad I was able to utilize the various incentives in my purchase & sorry the major one appears to be going away. Last, but certainly important, fit & finish were most excellent & accolades to the Tennessee crew.

Lyriq was a great fit for me
I got my Lyriq in January, built in November. It's been a stellar vehicle, comfortable and clean. Great for the family. Make sure all software is up to date before you take the car from the dealer.

Great ride but not sporty
Very comfortable, nice extras, plenty of room, reasonable performance, but a bit soft on turns as expected with a ride like this

Only vehicle I ever regretted buying
I thought Cadillac EV, top of line, what could go wrong? After 2 months, all electronics failed, vehicle wouldn’t charge or start. Towed to local dealer where it sat 5 days waiting for their one tech qualified to service these vehicles. After 6 months, a small fender bender. Took to body shop, told ‘indefinite wait for parts’. Took one long trip, drove 20 miles out of my way to find charging station. Automatic door opening feature resulted in vehicle being burglarized when I walked past it in city & forgot doors open automatically. In summer, all that chrome on dashboard became blinding. Parking brake would operate without my engaging it while backing up. I found seat vibration feature (spatial proximity alert) both irritating & alarming. Although vehicle drove beautifully & quietly, all of the above prompted me to sell. Learned there is little demand for these vehicles, so took large loss, but relieved to have it off my hands. If there is a class action lawsuit against Cadillac, count me in.

Rear windshield
I have one major complaint and it just makes me hate the car. No rear windshield wiper! They say the water is supposed to roll off it. Yeah, maybe if the car is moving. I park outside in Florida and have to squeegee the rear every morning. Trading it in.
Hot, Fast and what a Beauty!
Still playing with all the options!

2024 Lyriq has delivered everything promised
In my life I have owned 6 new vehicles. The Cadilac Lyriq is my favorite of all of them. I have found it to be comfortable, quiet and fun to drive. The range I get is exactly as advertised. The performance is peppy and fun, and I have found the technology and comfort blend makes driving the Lyriq a pleasure. My model is a Luxury 2 equipped with Super Cruise and that has performed impressively. I was nervous to actually take my hands off the wheel at first, but I have learned that the system is very capable and I trust it. Seats are comfortable and the cabin is remarkably quiet. Like some other reviews, I did have a couple of technology error messages. My local dealership took care of them quickly and they have not resurfaced. I am not marking the Cadilac down for this as it is a new design with a lot of new tech. I think it would be unreasonable not to expect a couple of adjustments to be needed during your ownership period. Also kind of fun, I have had more compliments on this vehicle regarding the styling than any car I have ever owned. All in all, after one year in, my experience has been excellent and I have no regrets on buying Lyriq.

Great car but needs a few fixes
I have the 2024 Lyriq sport 3 and overall I love it. The car does have many rattles in it. Some I have fixed myself. Cadillac is no help cause there mechanics are all deaf. I added foam rubber in the ceiling to get rid of a few rattles up there. The low speed warning noise that sounds like a space ship when driving under 19 mph is to loud in the car and GM says it can’t be turned off. It’s there for the blind but what about for the deaf? I disabled two speakers one under the front pass side bumper and one under the pass rear bumper. There’s a two prong plug on the side of the speaker and you can stick a screwdriver in the little speaker grill and pop off the plug. Now it’s quite like it should be. I still have a vibration from the AC compressor that they say there’s no fix for yet and the knocking AC vents in the dash was mostly taken care of with a software update. I wish the Google maps showed Tesla charging stations but they don’t unless you do a search for them. Like on a Tesla if I plan a trip I want my map to show me Tesla chargers while navigating but it doesn’t as of yet.

Flawless Lyriq?
I've had this Sport 2 Lyriq since October 2024 and it has been flawless. This is my first EV. My expectations were low given how new this technology is, but I figured with a four-year warranty it was worth a try. 1,500 miles in and everything works as designed and I have no complaints

Cadillac hits the right note with Lyriq
As a guy that grew up in the 80s and 90s drooling over Cadillacs and Lincolns from that point forward, as well as owning several Lincolns over the years, I had mixed feelings about my first Cadillac being an EV. I longed for the days of the mushy land yacht ride with a V8 eating up miles while you relaxed on a seat shaped something like your living room sofa. I’ve had my Lyriq (Lux 2 AWD) for 2 full months and I can’t imagine going back to a gas vehicle. The instantaneous power of an EV is intoxicating. The comfort and ride are spot on for what I would expect an evolved Cadillac to be. It’s soft but not mushy. The interior is roomy with enough space in the back for a road trip. My only 2 comments would be: 1. I would like more than 1 choice to get a real leather interior. The synthetic material is comfortable, but you can tell it’s not real leather. I’m not a fan of the saddle brown color, so I had to get the synthetic material. And you have to get the top trim level for that to even be an option. 2. As mentioned in another review, I wish the AC was a little more powerful. I live in South Florida and good strong AC is a matter of survival, not comfort. I don’t know if that is in vent size/placement or the mechanical side, but it needs to cool the cabin faster. I would have given it 5 stars across the board if the AC performed a little better. Overall, though, I do not regret the purchase at all. It has been 100% trouble free since I got it. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a luxury EV.

Tesla could learn a thing or two.
I’ve only had the car for a few days, so I cannot speak of reliability yet, however, it is very fun, incredibly comfortable and maybe the best looking car on the road (bias opinion). A few quirky things: sometimes door handles stick out briefly after starting it in the garage and backing out. Defrost is not strong enough on the left side of the windshield. Do not lock wheel out one direction or another or the tire hits the body, I believe. The hand brake to recharge the motor is very cool (left, top on steering wheel. This is not a paddle shifter). Go check it out. Also, this is a 515 hp car so if you push it, it’ll suck a lot of juice. Overall, I love the vehicle.

LYRIQ Software bugs, low quality app...
We have put up with the "open and close right rear window" message since day one. The dealer has no clue. We did not buy the upgraded packages, so we have none of the Google features. Finally, we decided to take it on the open road and the app on my phone just up and disappeared. My wife's hung in for the trip. The app took up to a Tesla charger, but then would not turn on the charger. Yes it worked at a previous Tesla stop. Maybe GM owns the EVGo company that charges almost as much as gasoline per mile driven. And on long drives the absence of a good place for arms is a problem. It has been nine months and still unable to figure out how to open the rear door. It is too difficult to navigate the software. Why they did not drive a Tesla when they were designing the interface is anyone's guess. PS -- I have driven Tesla S since 2013.

Love it!
So pretty and so fast. I am a one week owner and in love!
Never going back to ICE
I feel for the Lyriq owners with inoperable vehicles. I have leased both a Polestar 2 and a Cadillac Sport 3. While both have not been perfect I have to believe that quality and dependability will both improve as time moves on. Who can ever forget of going to a gas station, getting a tune up, brake job and oil change. I can,and alot more people will start to see the benefits of an electric car. I would suggest a lease to everyone looking at EVs. Having a charger or dryer plug you can use at home is the game changer. EV chargers should only be used for planned trips. Every car maker is now building electric. Their looking forward to our future and i think they are on the right track. Now there may be doubters but the Horse and Carriage also had its day.

Wow!!!
The Lyriq is Calabash first step in the right direction, for a long time it's been lackluster to say the least. But I must say they really outdid themselves. I've owned caddies my entire life, and this by far is one of the best models. Go take one for a test drive can't recommend it enough.

Be aware used prices are wrong
Appraise a Lux 1 on Edmunds and it is worth $1000 more tradein than a loaded Lux 3. Thus if you can find a dealer willing to sell a Lux 3 in the low to mid $40ks, grab it quickly before used pricing corrects. The Lyriq is a luxurious ev far more liveable than any Tesla. And has Apple Carplay and Sirius satellite radio.
