Former Panamera Owner Finds 840i Superior....
I had previously had base Porsche Panameras, starting with 2010 model year.. Really enjoyed them, but when my lease was recently up on my 2017 version I looked at alternatives, and finally settled on 840i. I like the look of the 840i and was initially impressed..It drives and handles well, and it is a bit quicker than my base Panamera, and it has enough space to satisfy, although not as much passenger volume as the Panamera. I find the fit and finish more than on par with Porsche, and interior details are superior. At first I found the entertainment and electronics to be superior to the Porsche' controls, but I have experienced intermittent issues with Car Play as I had in Panamera. The styling is deceptively lean and athletic.. and I could not believe that the 840i is actually about 4 inches longer than my past Panameras, The trunk space is limited in height because of its hard lid, but the depth of the trunk actually swallows up my luggage than my Panamera ever did... a pleasant surprise...The biggest negative about the car is the run-flat tires and hard suspension... The car handles well but it is a somewhat hard and rocky ride over uneven pavement. The major bonus with BMW is costs of ownership in early years, since basic maintenance services are covered for the first few years... Meanwhile, Porsche charges for everything... After 20k miles I have invested a negligible amount in maintenance because it is all covered...Over life of lease I will probably save at least 4k in service costs over the length of my 3 year lease.. BMW lease deals are also easier to live with than Porsche... I am really pleased with this car.

M850 Gran Coupe
Love this car. V8 sounds great and has what feels like unlimited power. Comfort mode provides great ride and Sport Plus brings a huge smile to my face. Plenty of room for kids. Front seats are awesome. Update... Owned car now for almost 11 months with zero issues. Great build quality. Update 2... Car almost 2 years old. Still love it. I have experienced 0 problems.

Beautiful Sedan
I have owned over 9 German vehicles in my lifetime, but this 2022 8 series Gran Coupe is hands down the best vehicle. Looks beautiful and drives like a sports car. I would highly recommend this vehicle.

Sultry beast
I've always been a fan of BMW's sporty sedans, and coming from a 2018 M550i, I was hard pressed to find one that was much better...until I test drove this sultry beast, with the innocent intent of settling a curiosity. It's honestly the only test drive I've ever taken where I knew I had to have the car at the conclusion. People ask why I traded my M550i when I loved that car so much, and the simple answer is that the M850i is all that and more, in every aspect. There are simply no compromises with this car: longer, lower, wider, head-turning body style, killer V8, and the ability to toggle from ultra-lux, quiet cruiser to snarling track beast with the touch of a button. I'm now in love with this other "woman" in the garage, and my wife's perfectly fine with that.

Dream car
Go with the all-wheel drive. 840xi is perfect for most buyers. 850xi is pricey, but worth it if one values performance.

Awesome
As a BMW owner for 20 years, this has been my favorite! If you can handle the horsepower, this is the 4 door car you want to drive. So comfortable! My 2022 750i was a little big, and the 850i is a perfect size!

Momma’s New Whip
This vehicle is absolutely amazing! It provides the comfort of a luxury automobile, and the handling, agility, and performance of a sports car. With the flexibility of the transmission, it allows me to commute daily as an automatic or on those days when I’m feeling the need for speed, I can manually shift or use the convenient paddle shifters to give me that sports car experience. The exhaust will rival that of most large engine rumble without the trouble of having to purchase aftermarket exhaust. I truly recommend using Justin Peeler at Century BMW in Greenville, South Carolina for all of your BMW purchases.
Lacks basic luxury features
I have the car for 2 years , the sticker price was $122 k before the additions .I was disappointed when I found out that it has no easy access entry , meaning you can’t program the driver seat to move back when you get in and out .the car vibrates when your speed go over 85 miles per hour , the interior gets very dusty even when you have your AC on circulate air .the AC fan blows a lot of air and loud even on the lowest sitting . The AC has no on and off button , you have to keep holding the down button to turn it off. The tires go bad very quickly , lasts average 7000 -12000 miles only ,I have 13000 miles on it and replaced all of them plus 2 were replaced twice .and finally the ride is everything but smooth , very lumpy even on the comfort mode . The only good thing is it looks nice and has plenty of power .

The perfect coupe
The V6 turbo is the way to go for daily driving. If you really want power I’d skip the V8 AWD for the M8. Rear wheel is the way to go with this car—unless you’re in a climate that requires all wheels—I don’t know why anyone would go with the M850i xDrive model besides speed I guess.

The Boss
black over red with black rims... ive been driving Beemers since 88.. 3, 5, 6, and 7 series.. this thing is all wrapped in one package.. the exhaust sound in sports plus is wild and the acceleration from a dead spot is addicting.. one complaint.. the stock system is absolutely subpar...needs an amp big time.. otherwise than that... its truly the Boss...

2020 BMW 840i Gran Coupe
I drove a loaded 2020 840I GC for about 2500 miles. The car had 20 inch wheels and summer tires. What I liked best was the engine and automatic transmission, but would not recommend the car because: 1) Ride comfort was awful and there was no noticeable difference between Sport and Comfort. It was like the car had no suspension at all. On rough road surfaces it was torture. Two BMW dealers said it was as designed. 2) The advanced steering assist behaved occasionally as a drunk driver. Sudden steering inputs when not called for. When it lost "sight" of lane markers there was an annoying "beep" that could not be turned off. 3) The surround view was mickey mouse and did not shift automatically from forward to rear view. A total nuisance to select manually when maneuvering in or out of a tights spot. The surround view does not automatically adjust for different light levels either and the display has room for improvement. Also, the warning sound when close to an obstacle was distracting and could not be turned off. 4) Seats were very uncomfortable and the car was not a pleasure to drive on road trips. As equipped, the MSRP came close to $100,000 but the car was definitely not worth it. All show and no go. After 3 months I got rid of the car and will never again consider BMW. I have owned 20+ cars and this one was the worst of all. My first and last BMW. Never again.

A great overall car
Purchased 2020 840i with 17k miles. Very nicely optioned and appears to be very well maintained. Very good fit and finish. Very comfortable. Very good-looking car. Very good overall performance. The many electronic features are pretty easy to use or figure out without reading the manual (although I have used Google to figure out a few features.) The ride is a bit firm for this type of 4 door car, even in Comfort mode. The engine feels a bit under powered given the size and weight of the car, but very adequate for a majority of my driving needs. Engine performs much stronger in Sport mode. Impressed with MPG - far better than Maserati Ghibli that it replaced. The V8 is much more expensive and not as economical on fuel. Very pleased with car.

Vroom Vroom
I've had this bmw m850i x drive for about 3 months now. Very great performance and beautiful exhaust. I heard about the N63 engines in the past but since it also had a facelift, I was told and see that it is much more reliable and great overall. If you take good care, I'm pretty sure it will last over 100,000 miles.
