My car is a 2001 A6 2.7 turbo, just plain fun to drive. There is plenty of room for those teen of yours or just hauling a pice of lumber, since the back seats fold down. In the winter, no fighting on who sits in the back seat, since the back seats have seat warmers. It handles like a dream on those curvie back roads. My last car was a Lexus which was o.k., this car has far more bells and whistles then most $40k cars. The German quality is curtainly there. You won't realize the good purchase you made until you have owned this car for awhile.

Squealing Brakes

I got an Audi A6 for a change of pace from a BMW 528. But, I am having a problem that has turned my likes into dislike. For the past 1500 miles, the brakes have been squealing terribly when braking. The dealer did an adjustment on them which Audi recommends for this problem. All they did was scuff up the pads and rotors with sandpaper. 30 miles later, and they were squealing again. Spoke to Audi customer service, and they consider this acceptable due to the nature of semi-metallic brake pads. They said there is nothing else they can do if there is no physical problem. So I get to drive around a $50K car that sounds like a city garbage truck when braking.

My A6

I've only had my A6 for 3 months, but so far, so good. It is very comfortable, rides very nice. Sporty, but wish I had gotten the 2.7L Turbo for more HP & torque. The "Sport" transmission & tiptronic help that a bit. Passengers have commented on how roomy the car is, more room inside than you would think. Classy interior, like with the wood-grain and leather. I'm anxious to see how the Quattro handles Nebraska winters. Only glitch has been a small electrical problem with the remote door locks, but easily fixed.

I looked at quite a few mid-level lux cars and this had them all beat. I don't live where the additional cost of quattro is necessary, so I chose the 3.0 CVT. This is almost as smoothe as my electric car I had to give back to the mfg. I love it!

So, far this is a great car. I drove a bunch of BMW's, A Jag, a Lexus, etc. Some were fun (the BMW) some were soft and slow (the Jag, the Lexus, for example) and most were far more expensive, for the same features! I am very pleassed, so far. Drives great!
