I have owned this vehicle for 40k miles (currently has 91k). It has needed some small repairs (Idle Control Sensor $127 w/labor, Trasmission Gasket $223 w/ labor), but I drive this vehicle in some very rough conditions.
I have owned several 4X4 vehicles and this one truly performs the best manuvering tight and rough terrain. With the exception of the weekends this has been my (full-time mom) wife's car. She claims it's the only SUV that drives like a car.
Inconsistent shifting (I have verified this with many Grand Cherokee owners).
Small Cargo Area
-Wheel stored in the vehicle is a definate negative
Gas Mileage isn't much better than a Tahoe I owned previously.
No Tow bar.
