I had the transmission checked by comnputer. It was a speed sensor on the front drive shaft. This help the Torque On Demand system function. The Check light still blink but the trooper works fine. I recently bought a 2001 Isuzu Trooper that has a wet floor on the driver's side. I was told that the seal around the window had to be resealed and the leakage happened before this was done. I had the same codes displayed and this is what I found. Isuzu moved the ECU into the engine compartment and the wiring is most sensitive. After replacing the TPS (throttle Position Sensor) the problem still occured. You recieve these codes becuase there is a loss in cunductivity within the wire harness in the engine compartment. I just had the leak fixed on my 2002 Trooper (57K miles.) They all burn oil, i have a 2000 with 93000 that has burned oil since new. You MUST check oil weekly, if not bi weekly. Also, use 20/50, NOT 10 W 30!!! If in warmer climate,use 30 wgt detergent oil. Im in florida and use 40 wgt in summer, slows oil burning in half.
It sounds like the same problem i had with my 2000, intake manifold gasket. The gasket was a defect when built and the new one you put in will prevent it from happening again.
I could not find specific code but it is a misfire. Thanks for the reply! I forgot to mention that my transmission fluid is leaking...so it could possibly be same issue just being a valve. I dropped it off at AAMCO this morning to have the fluid drained and refilled, not flushed. I had the same problem at about 85,000 miles. It also was leaking transmission fluid. I took it to the dealer and it was only an inexpensive valve on the transmission. The cost was under $50.00 but covered under the warranty.

Are you out of warranty on the transmission? If you are original owner powertrain warranty should be 10 years, 120,000 miles. Of course if you are not the original owner, I think it dropped to 60K miles, not sure if it is 3 or 5 years...isuzu.com does not cover that.

If I am correct Error code 13 and 14 was the front wheel speed, 24 was the rear wheel sensor circuit. There is a specific code for either the front or rear speed sensors. I use a K&N original equipment replacement air filter which seems to breath a little easier than a new clean paper filter. I had the EGR code come up, so I had the EGR valve changed. The EGR valve going bad will cause irratic idle or when realy bad stalling, or no ability to idle. justin- The Trooper's last year of production was 2002. The intake manifold gasket issue is common on all 1998+ isuzu 3.2/3.5. It's an easy repair job that doesnt cause any permanent engine damage when it goes. The 4L30E auto trans is more reliable than most & can last 150K miles+ with regular maintenance. Judging from what I read, the IMG can be a problem on the 98+ Troopers. It is not rocket science to replace them, nor is it real expensive, but that has been a common theme.
