While the L.A., Detroit and Chicago auto shows are virtual American-made love fests, the Geneva Motor Show provides the stage for a considerably more international crowd. With no auto manufacturing companies based in the perpetually on-the-fence country, the show caters to car builders big and small. Design concepts are prevalent but there's also always a good helping of production-ready vehicles on display.
Horsepower is the order of the day this year as several manufacturers revealed some of their most powerful vehicles ever. After wowing crowds in Paris nearly two years ago with a concept version of the Carrera GT, Porsche finally unveiled the production car that promises stunning performance from its V10 power plant. Fellow German Mercedes-Benz showed off a drop-top version of its CLK coupe along with the new AMG-tuned CL coupe that sports a twin-turbo V12. More performance was on display at the Lamborghini stand where the Italian carmaker revealed the Gallardo, a smaller version of its Murcielago flagship. And last but certainly not least, Ferrari showed off the 360 Stradale, a race-inspired version of its gorgeous midengined sports car.
