@khanhle --- Can you please tell me the dealer and the sales rep you dealt with ? Thats a darn good price for an EX....
Hello, Civicowner3, My 2013 Civic is doing the exact same thing to my husband and I. It's awful. The car is five months old and began making us increasingly ill over the past two months. It first began with headaches and then became much worse over the months, and now includes a metallic taste and the inability to drive the car for longer than five minutes or so--with the windows rolled ... That's about 2400 below invoice - killer deal - what dealer?
Sale Price: 16400 Destination: 790 Processing fee: 485 4% Virginia Sale Tax: 707 +fees etc.... =18500 :) I didn't care much about the selling price. I dealt straight up with the dealer for an OTD price :). I think this time of the year you can strike a lot of good deals.
What is the actual selling price including destination fee and dealer doc fee? An out the door price doesn't help folks who aren't buying a car where you are - the mandated TTL fees differ by location. Thanks, Bill G
Oh, and btw, when I mean OTD it literally means OTD ( Freight charge, dealer processing fee, tax, tags included) :)
It was EX :). They held me back with that price as I was about to walk out of the dealer. I got the deal of 18800 at another dealer, but they didn't let me walk away that easy.
Hi Khanhle, I just want to clarify, was that price for an EX or LX? It seems extremely low for an EX, as stated in your title.
Got the car out of the lot yesterday. Price was 18500 OTD. I was not eligible for the College Grad and Military incentives so I think this deal is not bad at all :)

You can tell the dealer you don't want the things and just take them off. It's just way for them to make some more money off of you. Here is our purchase story in Cincinnati. Went to the dealer who quoted me $17,604.63. Test-drove 3 Civic cars, and found a distinct stalling in all of them when they were going from 40mph to 50mph. This stalling was different from the one we feel when a gear automatically shifts. The dealer told me that this was a problem in Civic 2012 which was addressed in 2013, but I could still feel that problem in 2013. Has anybody ... Read More
No problem. As many others have advised here: If the deal doesn't feel "right" to you, walk away. Your instincts are your best friend in this process. Your gut won't lie to you. Some car salesmen will. Good luck!
Thank you so much for your informative reply. It's taken a big load off my mind! Nice advice on dealer added options too. Didn't know it's so easy to get them off. Will post details here if this deal goes through. Thanks once again.
I'd say the guy mentioning hail/flood damage is trying to scare you, especially if the $17,604 quote came from a Honda dealership. My advice would be to deal with someone else. He doesn't want to help you; he wants to sell you a car. The add-ons are certainly negotiable. If they won't negotiate on cost, I'd tell them to take them off. Wheel locks and trunk tray will take two minutes ... Read More

Hi, a dealer in NC quoted me $17,604.63 for a new car as mentioned in the subject. Another dealer told me that this is too low and the car could have some hail/flood damage that is not reported and which will come to bite me when I sell/trade the car later on. He also said this damage may or may not have been reported. Could this be true? How can I ... Read More

Just pulled the trigger on a new 2013 Civic EX-L. $20,621.56 OTD. Very happy with this deal. Went out to just browse 2013 Honda's on a Sunday with little intent to buy that day, just researching what we wanted. Hi, Just wanted to share that the Honda Dealers seem to be more open minded to discounting the Civics give the new Corolla is quite a nice car and formidable competitor. Hi, I am new to the forum. Negotiated a deal on the honda civic lx 2013 for 190$ after tax, Zero down 12k/36 month. DOC fee + new plate fee + 1st month payment = 550 at signing. Is this a good deal? :)
Your thinking is correct - that dealer has a lot of work to do on the price. Do you have any other dealers within a reasonable distance that you can get quotes from? I think you will see the price drop quickly if you get some competition going. Try to work with dealers who have good Internet mgrs/depts who are willing to negotiate through email. Bill
Thanks Bill. Selling price is 23,505 and about $2000 is TTL and Dealer's fee. I too think it's pricy.
What is the selling price minus the TTL (tax, title & license)? A total out the door price without an itemized breakdown is no help because TTL varies by location. A good price on this car would be around 21,300 including destination but before any fees and taxes. That's about 1500 below invoice. Bill G
I am planning to buy 2013 Honda Civic EXL with Navi with some add on like floor mats and trunk mat. Dealer is quoting $25,550 OTD. Can you please advise a good price on this.
Thanks, Bill! Even my better half is enjoying it despite that it is an automatic - haha!
Congrats - enjoy your new Civic EX - they are super cars! Bill G
Yes, I bought the car for that price. Again, I realize I may have been able to get the price lower, but I am fine with the price I paid.
Have you completed this purchase yet? These cars are currently going for 12-1500 below invoice. Invoice is around 20,200. Bill G
2013 Honda Civic EX Sedan Vehicle Price: $20,251 Doc Fee: $249 OTD: $20,500 I realize I could have probably gotten the price a bit lower. This was my first car purchase but, I did not take any extras from the dealer.

That's why I wanted the salesman to lower his price of $19,112 but he's claiming it's a big discount of $1,500 (perhaps from MSRP?) I didn't mean $20k as in 20,000 flat but as in under 21k. I thought they'd be willing to sell since they have a lot of 2013 left but surprisingly no one's willing to go under $19k...whyyyyyyy?
2 - invoice on a 2013 Civic EX Sdn is about 20,150 so they are quoting you about 1000 under. Don't know what that 1500 in your post means. Not sure I understand your "week old" concept but to get a 2013 Civic LX for $17-18k out the door in CA, the purchase price would need to be around 2-3000 below invoice. There was a $500 dollar "Loyalty" for having another honda. But they added $500 onto the car so they would get reimbursed by Honda for it. So it was really a wash.

Hey Bill, I think this guy works for this particular Honda Dealer. He's posted a few lease work sheets like this in numerous Honda "prices paid" forums.
If you are only working with one dealer, you're not in a good position to negotiate. The lease factor is very good. The residual is set by Honda. That 599 dealer fee is adding $18 to the payment. If you have not done the deal yet, either have them reduce that fee significantly, or have them reduce the selling price by 600 - that will get your payment to around 200.
