2014 Mitsubishi i-MiEV Gets $6,130 Price Cut

CYPRESS, California — The 2014 Mitsubishi i-MiEV starts at $23,845, including an $850 destination charge, reflecting a $6,130 price cut versus the previous 2012 model, Mitsubishi said on Tuesday.

The 2014 i-MiEV will start at $16,345, after a $7,500 federal tax credit. It goes on sale in the spring.

More standard features have been added to the i-MiEV.

They include a quick-charge port, heated front seats, a battery-warming system, aluminum wheels and a leather-covered steering wheel and shift knob.

Edmunds says: The i-MiEV's 20 percent price cut makes it more competitive against the Chevrolet Volt, Ford Focus Electric and Nissan Leaf — all of which received price reductions earlier this year.
