Used 2005 Volvo XC90 V8 AWD 4dr SUV (4.4L 8cyl 6A) Consumer Reviews
another volvo
I drive 1995 Volvo 850, and my wife had 2003 Honda Pilot SUV. Right away after we test drove 2.5T XC90 I decided to trade-in the honda SUV ( which started to show degradation in suspension and interior quality after only 2.5 years). I test drove 2.5T again and felt that 5- cylinder engine did not have enough power. T6 were not available anymore, so I got V8 2005 year model. We are very happy w/ the vehicle so far (~1300 miles in 2 weeks). As others said, it drives and feels more like a sedan, not your typical SUV-there is very minimal body roll, great acceleration and braking, no nose-dive forward as you brake, suspension very comfortable and you don't feel any bumps/potholes, except major ones
XC90 V8
Have shopped every 3 row SUV out there. For us, this one hits a home run. More useable interior space than a Sequoia or Escalade, due to folding first, second and third row seats, safety features unmatched by any other , the most comfortable seats I tried and a smooth, easy ride made the decision clear. The V8 is a pleasure to drive. It is smooth, crisp and powerful. The interior is among the quietest of any I've been in.
- T6 4dr SUVMSRP: $3,99520 mi away
- 2.5T 4dr SUVMSRP: $8,495291 mi away
- V8 4dr SUVMSRP: $5,999292 mi away
Nice suv smooth ride
It rides great and has nice power. Great room and comfort. Some interior defects like a door handle coming off and a broken seat stop. I have owned it one month - 4000 miles on it.
Great SUV!!
This was a great investment for my growing family. The third row seats are small, but will be used by my kids only. The leather interior, wood grain steering wheel, rear DVD system are all a major plus for me. The most impressive feature is the 315 hp engine with smooth acceleration. This does not even compare to my wife's S70. Volvo has really stepped up with the rest of its competitors in the SUV market.
XC90 V8 First Trip Review
We have put the first 900 miles on our XC90 V8. On our longest trip was going from Sacramento, thru Clear Lake and then up to the North Coast on Hwy 101 to near Crecent City, we averaged 20.4 mpg. That is driving thru the mountains, passing other vehicles (motorhomes and trucks with trailers). The speeds ranged from 70 on the Hwy, and between 35 and 50 thru the various towns, up and down hills and mountains. The vehicle handled like a dream, took turns in the mountains extremely well and never felt like it couldn't handle everthing we threw at it. We even took it off paved road, on a dirty, dusty dirt road, that leads to the coast, and even crossed 3 small streams. This vehicle is awesome!
