Unable to control charging
For reasons best known to Volvo, they elected not to allow drivers to control charging for this PHEV. I spent months of trying to find out why I could not control the charging schedule with the Volvo app. It turns out Volvo enabled only fully electric vehicles to be controlled that way. How is this leadership for a brand that pretends to be at the vanguard of electrification of cars? Since I made the above comments earlier this year, Volvo has not yet made any improvements to their Volvo Cars app to allow control over charging. Perhaps reflecting their lack of vision on this aspect, the company has walked back it commitment to have an all-electric automotive lineup by 2030.

‘22 Volvo S60
I bought my car new 3/22. The best feature is fuel economy from the mild hybrid drive train. The car has plenty of power, rides smooth, and handles very nice. Seats are comfortable and has all the features and technology I need, plus the price is also very good.

Deceptive Edmunds Review
Bought an S60 after relying on Edmunds.com reviews, but only to experience a known, common issue of the vehicle vibrating violently at highway speeds. It felt like bad air turbulence while flying. Ended up returning the car. Will never go back to Volvo!

Easy Rider
The Volvo S60 mild hybrid was an excellent drive and easy to just jump in and go. While it had an interactive screen, there was little need for me to learn much before driving off on our demo drive. Despite the fact that my current drive was a 12-year old version of the same vehicle, there was no learning curve, unless I wanted to immerse myself in the electronics. Unfortunately, the car that I really wanted to drive was the plug-in hybrid, but I declined to drive uthe white version offered, knowing that I would not settle for that color. The Volvo salesman ultimately (several hours later) acknowledged that a black plug-in hybrid was also available, but by then I had initiated the purchase of another car. Another example of traditional auto dealer salesmanship gone wrong.
Smooth ride with some pep
Everything about this car seems to run smoothly - from accelerating to braking to using all its features. There was a learning curve dealing with all the different functions and computer, but overall it wasn't that complicated. The computer screen for the GPS is large and easy to read.
Perfect PHEV Luxury Sedan
I love my S60 T8. I shopped it against some other BEV and PHEV sedans, and, for my case, it is the best solution. The 40-mile range is enough for my everyday driving, and I can always take a longer trip on gas. The interior is just lovely. The wool seats are super-nice, the Bowers and Wilkins stereo is amazing, and the ride is a nice balance between sporty and comfortable. Like most Volvo drivers, I didn’t buy it for the muscle, but the thing is a monster when you stamp on the accelerator. The driving assistance gadgetry works. It’s a perfect upmarket daily driver and road trip car, and it’s fun, too. So, if you want a well thought out, quirky alternative to the German sedans, this is your car.
