Worst Car Ever
I bought this car used learned my lesson. No one writes reviews of the long term problems. A lot of electrical problems down the road. The gas mileage isn't all that wonderful either when you travel back and forth about a 100 miles a day. Mechanics don't like to work on these cars because they are so difficult to work with. And it is just a money pit. It would be a great car I'm sure brand new, don't buy it used.

Great in the snow
This is my 2nd Passat wagon, the all wheel drive is fantastic! This was a tough winter on Maine and the Passat was like a tractor when the going got bad.
Perfect!!
I traded in a BMW 325xi for a Passat TDI Wagon GLS. I couldn't be happier. The fit and finish is exquisite. The TDI engine is a joy to drive. This caqr has loads of low end torque. its handling is excellent. It has a beautiful classic design, quiet interior, and no rattles.
what a waste
I totally agree that VW doesn't stand behind its products and the dealerships are very incompetent. I have just had my Passat for 8 months and suddenly over the last two weeks the mileage dropped to 10 mpg on highway! I took it to the dealership and they say they can't find any problem and hence cannot help me out! All they did was scanned the computer to see if there were any problems. Further, they took my car for a spin and put 100 miles on it (50 miles more than what the invoice said). This is rediculous. I would never trust them or VW again.
