Then they add ridicules high dealer hidden fee for vacuum and washing your car. Fee what is already included in the price of the car and which is reimbursed by manufacturer to the dealer. You don't have to pay it again. They will manipulate you so you will never see this fee, or you will never ask them what it is. The worst car purchase experience. This is my third purchase of Acura and 2 dealers before never charged me this "prep fee". I had ILX, RDX and recently I purchased TLX. This was first purchase in Acura downtown Chicago. First, last, and NEVER AGAIN ! Ryan the manager was arrogant, unpleasant to deal with and very manipulative. I drove over 30 miles to this dealership only because I saw on internet very good price of the car. This is how they get you. They will never mention to you that to the price they will add "excessive prep fee" so it doesn't make price of the car attractive anymore. This fee is mixed up with other fees like state tax and state fees. In my case they charged me additional 1295.00 to the price of the car for vacuum and washing the car. Fee apply to Luke/Mike and Ryan. They even didn't buy the full tank of gas for 1295 only half a tank. This is a joke ! The only part of the contract, where you can see the numbers and this hidden fee, is signed on the tablet and your signature is copy/paste under numbers. Luke made sure that we would not see the numbers. We only saw big signature filed on the tablet, but no numbers. They are making sure that you will not see it before you sign. Please before you sign the contract ask them to remove this excessive fee !!! This is scam ! You don't have to pay it ! Very bad experience overall. Car is great.

    Dealer Review:

    Worst attempted car buying experience of my life! To sum it up since I may share too much, McGrath Acura of Morton Grove pulled a total Bait & Switch. I did my homework beforehand, test drove an RDX and MDX, did more research online. I asked a question online about a specific McGrath car offering. I had a great, thorough discussion when Internet Salesperson Dan called me regarding my question. I told him my motivation, my down payment amount and that I was ready to buy based on the great price he quoted on a MDX Tech model. The booking manager Amy--who followed up later to get my appointment booked--commented on what a great price Internet Dan had quoted for me. Clearly there were notes in the McGrath system about my discussion with Dan and the offer made to me. On appointment day I drove 45 minutes to the Morton Grove dealership. I drove there to buy a 2020 MDX Tech model. My research was done, I was ready to buy. When I arrived, everything started to unravel. No one read the appointment notes. I think I surprised the junior sales guy when I was ready to move forward in buying the car. I really wanted to nail down the price of the car since the price from Internet Dan was oral and not in writing. No such luck. Claiming that they were "avoiding discrimination", both junior Salesperson Tom and later Assistant Manager Dan started their negotiation process by creating monthly payment options based on the full retail listed car price and an undisclosed APR which was supposedly an average of all interest rates their buyers have received. Huh? Someone needs to pull out a dictionary and show those boys the definition of discrimination. Maybe McGrath believes that in order to avoid discrimination, every person that walks in the door should be treated as equally stupid. During a “check with my manager break” another customer came over and said that he had the same frustrating b.s. experience regarding monthly payment options the day before. I’m sorry but who would buy a car and agree to a monthly payment without knowing (A) The PRICE of the car and (B) the Interest Rate of the financing portion of the transaction? For cripes sakes, I told them that I work in banking. Read your customer. However, they kept trying to lock down a monthly payment and then they kept showing me lease payment options. Why? I said I was buying a car, what is confusing about that statement? Neither salesperson would acknowledge the price that Internet Dan gave me (Amy clearly knew it so it was written down somewhere) and they wouldn’t propose an offering price other than the sticker price. It was just weird. They would only walk through the payment process at the full $52,625 sticker price! I told them upfront several times that I needed a great bargain to justify the purchase. I didn’t drive 45 minutes to pay full sticker price. In 90 minutes of inept salesmanship while I was on the lot, neither salesman gave me any offering other than the full sticker price. Hey, MDX models are changing next year and the 2020s are not selling great in this Covid world we’re living in right now. Even more insulting, without discussion, Dan added in $2,300 in fees and options to the sales price. I asked him if he was on drugs because instead of giving me a discounted price, he took it upon himself to add extras I never agreed to and increased the price. Who adds Xylon paint coating to the price before a sales price has been agreed upon? I finally said that I needed to know the interest rate. I also wanted to know their best offering price for the MDX. Dan came back to tell me that the financing rate would be 5.90%. What??? I have excellent credit and that rate is nowhere near the range given on Acura’s website. Did Assistant Manager Dan miss the part where I said I work in the banking industry and I might know about current interest rates? Okay, it was a ridiculous rate, but at that point I just wanted to know the actual offering price of the car. I asked Dan, “What is the car price at 0.9% financing and what would the car price be at 5.90% financing? I want those two numbers. I was previously told by Internet Dan that they would offer me the MDX Tech model at $40,860. Clearly that was not true so what would the offer be at those two financing levels?”. The [non-permissible content removed] finally claimed that the offer (Internet) Dan made was based on leasing, not buying. Baloney, we talked thoroughly about my situation. Asst Mgr Dan then said (regarding the quoted price), “We have more room in the price on a leasing deal. I think that the 0.9% would be a better option for you”. Seriously. This [non-permissible content removed] thinks he’s going to charm me into trusting his advice with no solid offering price? The closest Asst Mgr Dan ever came to giving me a price was when he finally said, “At 5.90%, I can get you a couple thousand off”. That was the point where I was absolutely done trying to negotiate. 45 minutes to get to Morton Grove and 90 minutes at the dealership. What a load of garbage and a complete waste of time. I will absolutely never trust a McGrath dealership of any kind again. The salespeople at Westmont (also a McGrath dealership) were very nice but I had gotten a whiff of the “Your Payment Will Be” game when I was there early in my search. It appears to be a McGrath ploy. I was so, so upset. I left the dealership absolutely shaking in emotion and frustration. I had been absolutely ready to pull the trigger and buy my car. What [non-permissible content removed] they employ at McGrath Acura and I have no doubt, and the other client confirmed, it is the McGrath training manual that Tom and Dan were following! In my past buying experiences, Toyota was never like that, Ford didn’t pull that crap. I have never experienced such a demeaning and frustrating experience. By the way, I stopped at Napleton Acura in Elmhurst on the way home. They were the runner-up in pricing when I was getting close to “purchase day”. Salesguy Wade Qin had been the person that let me know early in my research stage that there was dealer motivation to move new MDXs versus the better selling RDXs. I was almost ready to just say F-it, I’m done, I’ll never buy an Acura if all of these dealers are like McGrath. I arrived at Napleton Acura in Elmhurst. In 5 minutes Wade told me their best price—which was close to Internet Dan’s offer—and I said that I was ready to buy. Done. I got my car, they found the color combo I wanted and the deal moved smoothly just the way it should have in Morton Grove. Financing was 3.49% just like it mentioned on the Acura site. Oh yeah, and [non-permissible content removed] Dan? I bought the coating and the extended warranty. The key is that you upsell after the customer agrees on a price. Your loss. I got a great car that night at a dealership much closer to my home. A family member will be in town in two weeks and wants to trade in his 2017 MDX for a new one. He’ll be dealing with Elmhurst. Thank you to the Napleton team for restoring my faith in a fair car buying process.

    Where should I start ,well I had a car with negative equity and filled out the credit application,got a call from the salesman that they got an approval on getting a Kia stinger .I didn’t want to put money down but had too cause that’s the only way I can get the car so fine.I got to the dealer salesman was like we are good to go this is your payment and and loan details and I asked is it for sure cause alot of dealers say that to get you into the building and then you sit for hours and then the deal doesn’t go thru,he said no it’s 100 % good .So we go into finance office sign a bunch of papers and I asked the finance guy ,so you guys got an approval he said yes do this guy should know what he is talking about.He shook my hand took the car home and I was so happy.On the way home on the highway the car was making a humming noise didn’t sound good .Called the salesman told me to bring it in.So I left it there for a day and a half they said the brakes need to be resurfaced and I told the service guy it’s a brand new car how could this happen he said from sittings ,so whatever as long as the noise is gone.I told the manager I wanted a new car for instead of this one cause if it’s already having problems one day after a buy it who knows what can happen later.He said he can’t give me another car I signed a contract I can’t give it back and get my old car ,they will fix what’s wrong with the stinger.Fine I did sign the contract hopefully no other issues come up.Today I message the service guy and ask what’s wrong with the car he said they had to resurface the rotors and it won’t be ready till tomorrow.Then I message the manager and he says in order for me to keep the stinger they want more money down or add a co signer .He said they got a partial approval which I never have heard of.They said I can pick up my old car unless I do one of the 2 options.So they can get out of a contract but I can’t.Not only did I get lied to about on a approval once but twice and the first time I wanted to take it back they said I couldn’t and now that they really didn’t have an approval they got out of the contract ,I was lied too and wasted my time .You are either approved or not never heard a partial approval and why would they let me take a car home if I wasn’t approved and 2nd of all the car I bought already had issues on the way home.These guys are [non-permissible content removed] and unprofessional they tell you what’s you want to hear.They waste your time and will never recommend anyone to this dealership!!If there was a way of rating them no stars I would!!

    Dealer Review:

    Current used car purchasing reality with Arlington Acura: 1. The price on the internet is not the real price. 2. The quote you receive when you inquire about the car on the internet is not the real price. 3. When you respond to your quote via email and request what mandatory fees will be part of the deal, you will not get the courtesy of a response. And yes, I called the Internet sales number requesting the same info and I never received a call back. 4. When you go to the dealership (because they seemingly won't respond to your email or voice message if you want to know the real price before you get to the dealership - and they really have the car you want) you will learn they will add minimally $1700 to the used car price on the internet by adding "services" to the car that come with approximately a 500% profit margin - "etching" and "appearance protection". That then becomes the actual price. 5. On the sales floor, the great and wondrous Wizard of Oz (sales manager) sits behind his curtain (counter) and dispatches his salesman back and forth to basically tell you about how hot the car market is now and how non-negotiable the prices of these additional high margin "services" are. I cannot tell you if those additional "service amounts" are truly non-negotiable or not and I do not know what shenanigans may occur in the Finance (closing) office after they purposefully try to exhaust you on the sales floor. I left after my salesmen's second return trip from the Wizard because I could not tolerate the earlier lack of ethics in advertising combined with the subsequent and unnecessary drama in the sales process. I am not naïve, I have purchased many used cars, but this process has become even more unnecessarily dirty recently. About two weeks later the car I wanted was on Carmax with a few less miles. Their process was much more transparent and I so I purchased my used MDX from them. Maybe I paid a little more. But I somehow doubt it. And frankly, I don't care. I simply felt more respected throughout their sales process. I knew the price from the outset. Arlington Acura's Internet Sales Team, Mr. Useini in Used Car Sales, and the entirety of the Arlington Acura senior management team needs to rethink how they want to earn their customers' respect and then their long term business. Yes, Arlington Acura can get away with the current yellow brick road psychodrama for now - as they and many others have done in the past. But people will remember the disrespect they were shown and over time they will find alternatives that suck less. Like I did. I understand today's marketplace. It is a seller's market. Prices are high because inventory is low and demand is steady. But that does not excuse a lack of ethics in business practices. Treat your customers with respect. Advertise the real price. Failing that, provide the mandatory fees in the text of the ad. Failing that, at least provide the mandatory service fees in the internet quote you provide. And lastly, failing that, at least respond to an email that asks for those fees. Don't make someone drive 30 minutes to your dealership to learn about these fee

    Worst attempted car buying experience of my life! To sum it up since I may share too much, McGrath Acura of Morton Grove pulled a total Bait & Switch. I did my homework beforehand, test drove an RDX and MDX, did more research online. I asked a question online about a specific McGrath car offering. I had a great, thorough discussion when Internet Salesperson Dan called me regarding my question. I told him my motivation, my down payment amount and that I was ready to buy based on the great price he quoted on a MDX Tech model. The booking manager Amy--who followed up later to get my appointment booked--commented on what a great price Internet Dan had quoted for me. Clearly there were notes in the McGrath system about my discussion with Dan and the offer made to me. On appointment day I drove 45 minutes to the Morton Grove dealership. I drove there to buy a 2020 MDX Tech model. My research was done, I was ready to buy. When I arrived, everything started to unravel. No one read the appointment notes. I think I surprised the junior sales guy when I was ready to move forward in buying the car. I really wanted to nail down the price of the car since the price from Internet Dan was oral and not in writing. No such luck. Claiming that they were "avoiding discrimination", both junior Salesperson Tom and later Assistant Manager Dan started their negotiation process by creating monthly payment options based on the full retail listed car price and an undisclosed APR which was supposedly an average of all interest rates their buyers have received. Huh? Someone needs to pull out a dictionary and show those boys the definition of discrimination. Maybe McGrath believes that in order to avoid discrimination, every person that walks in the door should be treated as equally stupid. During a “check with my manager break” another customer came over and said that he had the same frustrating b.s. experience regarding monthly payment options the day before. I’m sorry but who would buy a car and agree to a monthly payment without knowing (A) The PRICE of the car and (B) the Interest Rate of the financing portion of the transaction? For cripes sakes, I told them that I work in banking. Read your customer. However, they kept trying to lock down a monthly payment and then they kept showing me lease payment options. Why? I said I was buying a car, what is confusing about that statement? Neither salesperson would acknowledge the price that Internet Dan gave me (Amy clearly knew it so it was written down somewhere) and they wouldn’t propose an offering price other than the sticker price. It was just weird. They would only walk through the payment process at the full $52,625 sticker price! I told them upfront several times that I needed a great bargain to justify the purchase. I didn’t drive 45 minutes to pay full sticker price. In 90 minutes of inept salesmanship while I was on the lot, neither salesman gave me any offering other than the full sticker price. Hey, MDX models are changing next year and the 2020s are not selling great in this Covid world we’re living in right now. Even more insulting, without discussion, Dan added in $2,300 in fees and options to the sales price. I asked him if he was on drugs because instead of giving me a discounted price, he took it upon himself to add extras I never agreed to and increased the price. Who adds Xylon paint coating to the price before a sales price has been agreed upon? I finally said that I needed to know the interest rate. I also wanted to know their best offering price for the MDX. Dan came back to tell me that the financing rate would be 5.90%. What??? I have excellent credit and that rate is nowhere near the range given on Acura’s website. Did Assistant Manager Dan miss the part where I said I work in the banking industry and I might know about current interest rates? Okay, it was a ridiculous rate, but at that point I just wanted to know the actual offering price of the car. I asked Dan, “What is the car price at 0.9% financing and what would the car price be at 5.90% financing? I want those two numbers. I was previously told by Internet Dan that they would offer me the MDX Tech model at $40,860. Clearly that was not true so what would the offer be at those two financing levels?”. The [non-permissible content removed] finally claimed that the offer (Internet) Dan made was based on leasing, not buying. Baloney, we talked thoroughly about my situation. Asst Mgr Dan then said (regarding the quoted price), “We have more room in the price on a leasing deal. I think that the 0.9% would be a better option for you”. Seriously. This [non-permissible content removed] thinks he’s going to charm me into trusting his advice with no solid offering price? The closest Asst Mgr Dan ever came to giving me a price was when he finally said, “At 5.90%, I can get you a couple thousand off”. That was the point where I was absolutely done trying to negotiate. 45 minutes to get to Morton Grove and 90 minutes at the dealership. What a load of garbage and a complete waste of time. I will absolutely never trust a McGrath dealership of any kind again. The salespeople at Westmont (also a McGrath dealership) were very nice but I had gotten a whiff of the “Your Payment Will Be” game when I was there early in my search. It appears to be a McGrath ploy. I was so, so upset. I left the dealership absolutely shaking in emotion and frustration. I had been absolutely ready to pull the trigger and buy my car. What [non-permissible content removed] they employ at McGrath Acura and I have no doubt, and the other client confirmed, it is the McGrath training manual that Tom and Dan were following! In my past buying experiences, Toyota was never like that, Ford didn’t pull that crap. I have never experienced such a demeaning and frustrating experience. By the way, I stopped at Napleton Acura in Elmhurst on the way home. They were the runner-up in pricing when I was getting close to “purchase day”. Salesguy Wade Qin had been the person that let me know early in my research stage that there was dealer motivation to move new MDXs versus the better selling RDXs. I was almost ready to just say F-it, I’m done, I’ll never buy an Acura if all of these dealers are like McGrath. I arrived at Napleton Acura in Elmhurst. In 5 minutes Wade told me their best price—which was close to Internet Dan’s offer—and I said that I was ready to buy. Done. I got my car, they found the color combo I wanted and the deal moved smoothly just the way it should have in Morton Grove. Financing was 3.49% just like it mentioned on the Acura site. Oh yeah, and [non-permissible content removed] Dan? I bought the coating and the extended warranty. The key is that you upsell after the customer agrees on a price. Your loss. I got a great car that night at a dealership much closer to my home. A family member will be in town in two weeks and wants to trade in his 2017 MDX for a new one. He’ll be dealing with Elmhurst. Thank you to the Napleton team for restoring my faith in a fair car buying process.

    WARNING ! SCAM! Excessive prep dealer's fee added to the price of the car ( in my case1295.00). Internet price is a scam ! This is only to get you to their door. Then they add ridicules high dealer hidden fee for vacuum and washing your car. Fee what is already included in the price of the car and which is reimbursed by manufacturer to the dealer. You don't have to pay it again. They will manipulate you so you will never see this fee, or you will never ask them what it is. The worst car purchase experience. This is my third purchase of Acura and 2 dealers before never charged me this "prep fee". I had ILX, RDX and recently I purchased TLX. This was first purchase in Acura downtown Chicago. First, last, and NEVER AGAIN ! Ryan the manager was arrogant, unpleasant to deal with and very manipulative. I drove over 30 miles to this dealership only because I saw on internet very good price of the car. This is how they get you. They will never mention to you that to the price they will add "excessive prep fee" so it doesn't make price of the car attractive anymore. This fee is mixed up with other fees like state tax and state fees. In my case they charged me additional 1295.00 to the price of the car for vacuum and washing the car. Fee apply to Luke/Mike and Ryan. They even didn't buy the full tank of gas for 1295 only half a tank. This is a joke ! The only part of the contract, where you can see the numbers and this hidden fee, is signed on the tablet and your signature is copy/paste under numbers. Luke made sure that we would not see the numbers. We only saw big signature filed on the tablet, but no numbers. They are making sure that you will not see it before you sign. Please before you sign the contract ask them to remove this excessive fee !!! This is scam ! You don't have to pay it ! Very bad experience overall. Car is great.

    I had been searching for a Genesis G80 for over a month and found the perfect one online, but about 200 miles away from where I live. I sent an inquiry about the car and Nick Lombardi was very prompt at getting back with me to let me know it was available still. He answered all of my questions about the car, process, and about my trade. Since I lived over 3 hours away and wanted to know about what I would receive on my trade-in, Nick suggested I take my car to Carmax which was only 30 minutes from where I live to get a certificate for the trade-in. He said they work directly with them and that should be what I would receive for my car. That gave me peace of mind knowing what I would receive rather than potentially wasting a 3+ hour trip to Chicago and coming home empty handed. Unfortunately, the only day I was able to travel was Nick’s day off. He set me an appointment with Brandon Lewin since he was not going to be in the office that day. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by staff and let me know Brandon would be with me shortly. Multiple staff asked my daughter and myself if we needed anything while we waited. Our wait was maybe 10 minutes - Brandon was super busy that morning, but made a great impression right off the bat. He introduced himself and let us know he was still with another customer, but got us seated at his desk right away. He set reasonable expectations with us and checked on us a couple different times in the 10 minutes he was finishing up with his other customer. Once he got freed up, he took us to the car and gave us a tour and offered to answer any questions we had then sent us on our test drive. Once back at the dealership Chris Lewin, sales manager, introduced himself and helped get things moved along with verifying my trade-in. Brandon was back and forth between another customer, but always checked in on us. I assured him that I was not in a huge rush and Chris was helping with the trade-in/sale as well. Once we agreed on all of the pricing and terms, I was sent to see Grant about the final paperwork. Grant was awesome as well. He went over all of the paperwork and gave his normal speech about extended warranties and such. I NEVER buy any of that extra stuff and told him that. Grant was never pushy about any of the extras and even did a custom package removing the unnecessary items. He never tried to upsell me anything either. He made a really good case and I actually opted for a couple items - shhh… don’t tell my husband! Grant answered all of my questions and kept good conversation during the paperwork process. At no point was anyone pushy or overbearing. We always had someone checking on us and apologizing for our wait. I didn’t feel like the wait was too long since we never went more than 15 minutes without seeing or talking to someone. They kept us updated on the process of the paperwork throughout the entire deal. Everyone was super friendly and down to earth. The only thing I wish were different was that Brandon’s appointments were spaced out a little more. I was fine with the wait, but I hated seeing him run around and constantly apologizing about being busy. I plan to keep this car for a while, but wouldn’t mind doing business here in the future if I’m in the market again!

    Dealer Review:

    Worst attempted car buying experience of my life! To sum it up since I may share too much, McGrath Acura of Morton Grove pulled a total Bait & Switch. I did my homework beforehand, test drove an RDX and MDX, did more research online. I asked a question online about a specific McGrath car offering. I had a great, thorough discussion when Internet Salesperson Dan called me regarding my question. I told him my motivation, my down payment amount and that I was ready to buy based on the great price he quoted on a MDX Tech model. The booking manager Amy--who followed up later to get my appointment booked--commented on what a great price Internet Dan had quoted for me. Clearly there were notes in the McGrath system about my discussion with Dan and the offer made to me. On appointment day I drove 45 minutes to the Morton Grove dealership. I drove there to buy a 2020 MDX Tech model. My research was done, I was ready to buy. When I arrived, everything started to unravel. No one read the appointment notes. I think I surprised the junior sales guy when I was ready to move forward in buying the car. I really wanted to nail down the price of the car since the price from Internet Dan was oral and not in writing. No such luck. Claiming that they were "avoiding discrimination", both junior Salesperson Tom and later Assistant Manager Dan started their negotiation process by creating monthly payment options based on the full retail listed car price and an undisclosed APR which was supposedly an average of all interest rates their buyers have received. Huh? Someone needs to pull out a dictionary and show those boys the definition of discrimination. Maybe McGrath believes that in order to avoid discrimination, every person that walks in the door should be treated as equally stupid. During a “check with my manager break” another customer came over and said that he had the same frustrating b.s. experience regarding monthly payment options the day before. I’m sorry but who would buy a car and agree to a monthly payment without knowing (A) The PRICE of the car and (B) the Interest Rate of the financing portion of the transaction? For cripes sakes, I told them that I work in banking. Read your customer. However, they kept trying to lock down a monthly payment and then they kept showing me lease payment options. Why? I said I was buying a car, what is confusing about that statement? Neither salesperson would acknowledge the price that Internet Dan gave me (Amy clearly knew it so it was written down somewhere) and they wouldn’t propose an offering price other than the sticker price. It was just weird. They would only walk through the payment process at the full $52,625 sticker price! I told them upfront several times that I needed a great bargain to justify the purchase. I didn’t drive 45 minutes to pay full sticker price. In 90 minutes of inept salesmanship while I was on the lot, neither salesman gave me any offering other than the full sticker price. Hey, MDX models are changing next year and the 2020s are not selling great in this Covid world we’re living in right now. Even more insulting, without discussion, Dan added in $2,300 in fees and options to the sales price. I asked him if he was on drugs because instead of giving me a discounted price, he took it upon himself to add extras I never agreed to and increased the price. Who adds Xylon paint coating to the price before a sales price has been agreed upon? I finally said that I needed to know the interest rate. I also wanted to know their best offering price for the MDX. Dan came back to tell me that the financing rate would be 5.90%. What??? I have excellent credit and that rate is nowhere near the range given on Acura’s website. Did Assistant Manager Dan miss the part where I said I work in the banking industry and I might know about current interest rates? Okay, it was a ridiculous rate, but at that point I just wanted to know the actual offering price of the car. I asked Dan, “What is the car price at 0.9% financing and what would the car price be at 5.90% financing? I want those two numbers. I was previously told by Internet Dan that they would offer me the MDX Tech model at $40,860. Clearly that was not true so what would the offer be at those two financing levels?”. The [non-permissible content removed] finally claimed that the offer (Internet) Dan made was based on leasing, not buying. Baloney, we talked thoroughly about my situation. Asst Mgr Dan then said (regarding the quoted price), “We have more room in the price on a leasing deal. I think that the 0.9% would be a better option for you”. Seriously. This [non-permissible content removed] thinks he’s going to charm me into trusting his advice with no solid offering price? The closest Asst Mgr Dan ever came to giving me a price was when he finally said, “At 5.90%, I can get you a couple thousand off”. That was the point where I was absolutely done trying to negotiate. 45 minutes to get to Morton Grove and 90 minutes at the dealership. What a load of garbage and a complete waste of time. I will absolutely never trust a McGrath dealership of any kind again. The salespeople at Westmont (also a McGrath dealership) were very nice but I had gotten a whiff of the “Your Payment Will Be” game when I was there early in my search. It appears to be a McGrath ploy. I was so, so upset. I left the dealership absolutely shaking in emotion and frustration. I had been absolutely ready to pull the trigger and buy my car. What [non-permissible content removed] they employ at McGrath Acura and I have no doubt, and the other client confirmed, it is the McGrath training manual that Tom and Dan were following! In my past buying experiences, Toyota was never like that, Ford didn’t pull that crap. I have never experienced such a demeaning and frustrating experience. By the way, I stopped at Napleton Acura in Elmhurst on the way home. They were the runner-up in pricing when I was getting close to “purchase day”. Salesguy Wade Qin had been the person that let me know early in my research stage that there was dealer motivation to move new MDXs versus the better selling RDXs. I was almost ready to just say F-it, I’m done, I’ll never buy an Acura if all of these dealers are like McGrath. I arrived at Napleton Acura in Elmhurst. In 5 minutes Wade told me their best price—which was close to Internet Dan’s offer—and I said that I was ready to buy. Done. I got my car, they found the color combo I wanted and the deal moved smoothly just the way it should have in Morton Grove. Financing was 3.49% just like it mentioned on the Acura site. Oh yeah, and [non-permissible content removed] Dan? I bought the coating and the extended warranty. The key is that you upsell after the customer agrees on a price. Your loss. I got a great car that night at a dealership much closer to my home. A family member will be in town in two weeks and wants to trade in his 2017 MDX for a new one. He’ll be dealing with Elmhurst. Thank you to the Napleton team for restoring my faith in a fair car buying process.
