202,000 miles and going strong!
I would have loved to have given it 10's across the board, but it is a minivan! I bought this van from the original owner just over six years ago with 65,000 miles. He was very meticulous with maintenance as am I, and it has really paid off. In my time of ownership I have just done my second timing belt, a new battery, starter, brakes, tires, struts, and wheel bearings. All a reasonable amount of work for 200k, and all preventative. Nothing has ever actually broke on it! The catalytic converter is starting to go finally, and will be $650 to replace when it does. I will happily pay this, as the van still runs as smooth as the day I bought it!
Sad day - family member moving on!
Today is the last day our old, but youthful, 2000 Sienna XLE will be in our family. Almost 19 years ago we were shopping for a new minivan to replace a long-in-the-tooth 1992 Olds Silhouette and researched/test drove everything on the market. Nothing we found had the overall qualities of the Sienna - size, comfort, removable seats, acceleration and all. Problem was, this was a very popular item and none of the dealers had what we wanted (XLE) available UNTIL we found one that had several on the lot. This dealer had made a trade of vans with a Canadian dealership in exchange for various 4WD vehicles. So our Canadian (with U.S.-approved instruments installed) had mud flats and DRLs, unlike its American sisters. This vehicle has been everywhere and done everything we expected of it, mostly highway miles including a 5000-mile trip to Alberta just three years ago. Especially useful was the ability to act as a long-bed pickup truck with the second and third row seats removed. In fact, the standard configuration was as a short-bed hauler with the third row seats stored in the garage. We kept it well maintained, with normal service and typical replaced parts (e.g., O2 sensor, brakes, etc.) over the years. Five years ago (at 188,000 miles) several major service items were recommended so we decided to look for a new vehicle. Drove just about everything on four wheels, and never found anything we liked as well as the old bus. So we invested about $3000 in the repairs with the hopes of keeping it for another two or three years. So now, five years later and at 242,000 miles, we are selling (for a very reasonable price) the still-new-looking family member to a young couple who we hope will enjoy it as much as we have. I told them about all the quirks and annoyances such as a power door that often fails to work and a broken (but repaired) rear door latch, and they were O.K. with all that (my price took these things into account). So tomorrow we say goodbye to a cherished family member that topped any other vehicle we ever - and probably will ever again - own.

283K and still going!
We bought this van new in 2000 and it has been the most amazing vehicle we've ever owned. We maintained it well and despite a few minor mechanical problems at 200K+, she's been a gem. We just gave this van to a family who needed it and it still runs great. I recently bought a 2008 Sienna to replace the 2000 van and hope it makes it to 283K too!

Safe and Sound
Our Sienna has been virtually trouble-free, and we've also experienced an accident. The Sienna did an admirable job of protecting everyone, and the ALR rear seatbelts held the kids' car seats tight during the wreck. Still, I dislike this van. I find the Sienna dreadfully uncomfortable. The front seats are mushy and offer virtually no support. The cargo space behind the third-row seat is not terribly good, and I wish the Toyota had the same disappearing third-row seat as the Honda does.
Very Reliable
I have owned this Sienna from day one, and so far w/95000 miles it has lived up to the reputation of Toyota by being the most reliable van I have owned. Have there been problems, sure, but minor: rear brake squeal and sliding power door sensor. Other than routine service, it's been a pleasure. Hope to have it another 7 years w/200,000 miles!
