Used 2002 Toyota Sequoia Consumer Reviews
Smooth ride! Watch your wallet.
i bought my seq used it was a 2002 sr5 with all bells! My only concern is the brakes. I have had to replace pads twice in one year and rotors once. I do drive quiet a bit. I bought the car with 23k it has 63K in a little over a year. But the car is a joy to drive, very smooth, like the lexus. Had to replace battery, I left on the lights, tires, and brakes.. The car is defint reliable. I would def by another. But only used. The gas will murder your wallet. At aound 3.00 a gallon, you're looking at 85.00 to fill. Brakes run about 200-400, tires are 500.00. So we are buying a smaller car for commuting purposes. The SUV will be for trips and weekends only.
Awesome truck
I bought this used at 85,000 miles, always looked at the Sequoia from afar, never thought I would own one, bought it used at a great price and have been thrilled ever since! Comfy, powerful, stylish, CD speaker system is the bomb and the sunroof is huge, you almost think it's a convertible! Lots of room and I feel really safe in it, the curtain airbags were a plus for me and my kids. The gas mileage stinks, but what do you expect in an 8 cylinder?? It's an awesome truck!

watch for rusty frame!
Toyota replaced our frame at no charge. Look for Sequoia that had its frame replaced. Otherwise pass

2002 Sequoia Trac Control and VSC safety Issue
I owned the 2002 sequoia and had 92k miles on it. In Mar 2016 my wife drove it at 50-55 mph on a high traffic state highway and the trac control and VSC lights came on and the vehicle speed reduced to about 10 mph in a few seconds. She almost got heat by the other cars behind her, but she was able to move to the right and exit the highway safely. I did the search and found out that this model has had safety issue on trac control/VSC, but toyota only recalled on 2003. I took the car to the toyota dealer and he said it just the O2 sensors failure. I looked over his mechanic report and saw another sensor, accelerator paddle control sensor also a problem. However he did not put that on the report to me/customer. He said that it will cost 1300 to repair and he is not recommended to drive it in this condition. I took the car back and sold it few days later for "better safe than sorry"

Excellent Vehicle
I can fit my family of 5 very comfortably in this SUV. Rides like a Lexus and gets pretty good mileage for the size. Very smooth quiet ride. I will drive the wheels off of mine.
