Toyota's Energizer Bunny
This truck is soooo reliable. I've gone through highschool and college with this truck. Never quits on me. It's funny to watch all of my friends have car or truck problems, which makes me realized that having a Toyota saved me a lot of money. My Toyota has 150K and they only thing I've had to do is oil changes and tire rotations.
I Love My Truck
This truck has been an excellent vehicle. My husband and I bought it to replace a 1979 Toyota Tacoma (you can see that we really needed a new one). At the time, my husband was still working and only used the truck on weekends. In 1998 he retired because of Parkinson's Disease. The truck only has 44,692 actual miles on it. He doesn't drive very much anymore. I do most of the driving, and I have bad knees a d need tgo get an automatic so that it won't be hard on my knees.
Excellant Value
Outstanding vehicle! Replaced timing chain and fan belts at 130,000, clutch at 200,000, original rear brakes still, second set of front pads. Regular oil and filter changes, second set of plugs and second battery, original shocks and the A/C has only needed charging once, this year - that's it. Average 24 mpg from day one. No rust except where exhaust pipe meets rear fender. Couldn't ask for a better vehicle. Second Toyota pickup, will definetely buy another if this one every quits.
Better than the Energizer Bunny
It just keeps running. I bought this truck new and kept it maintained. Ride was bouncy at first, the addition of a fiberglass cap changed that. To this day the engine purrs. All things considered it's been cheap to keep. The absolute best factory service manuals in the business. Clearly detailed with logical trouble-shooting techniques. Absolute best design for week-end mechanics. From orientation of the ignition system to the access panel for the oil filter, this vehicle was designed to last a long time and be easily maintained.
Money well spent
Bought in 1997 after 1982 accord was finished. Knew 1994 Toyota pick up was reliable and it has proved so. Hit a deer and had some repairs to the front and have had 3 radiators but that is the worst repairs that I have had to have that I didn't cause. Ran through high water and had to have the engine drained and dried out but the engine still ran great after that. Basic maintenance (oil changes, belts etc) should keep the engine going for well over 200,000 miles. Great truck!
