2010 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited 4dr SUV AWD w/3rd Row (3.3L 6cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

Did some research and decided on the HH Limited based on gas mileage (better all around than my 4cyl. 2008 Accord), room/comfort, and reliability (customer feedback, Consumer Reports recommendations, and car mag editors). Smooth ride plus some nice features but you'd expect that from a $44k vehicle. Also drove the Lexus RX Hybrid and Caddy SRX, both of which were equally smooth but opted for more room and a decent deal since Toyota is trying to rebuild their goodwill. Note that at the time of this writing, the Toyota 0% financing is for non- Hybrid only. My Credit Union offered a lower rate but when you start the negotiations, Toyota will match rates - but make them go lower.

Good but not like the Prius

Just bought our new HH Limited 2011 before Christmas. So about 6 weeks ago. Drives very good - 8K millage just 9L/100KM which is not what the book says but I think that will come. I am disappointed in many of the interior design. We owned 2 Prius and many of the Steering controls that are in the Prius and found in the dash - a good stretch away from the driver. I find the Smart key - proximity is not as good and often doesn't catch if I am coming from the rear side of the vehicle. I have not found a lock button on the rear liftgate so I have to use my Smart Key or go to a side door. The sound system is excellent - the cargo space is good but small features are absent

My Dad, Brother, and I went to buy this car on memorial day of 2009, when the car was just launched. It is the Limited Hybrid Model with the 3.3 Gas Hybrid System. We Traded our 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE Van. We got 15,000 off through trade in. We negotiated for 30 minutes and got the deal. 33,400 final total with everything. Regular MSRP for this model was 48,400. We ABSOLUTELY love our Highlander. We have had it for 8 years and 152,000 miles. With very little maintenance, just from regular oil changes and a few alignments. The most we had to do was a catalytic converter, and transmission line. None the less the car handles great, rides smooth, feels awesome, is comfy and is overall a great investment and great car.

If you want all of the benefits of an SUV, comfort, styling, AND great fuel mileage, nothing compares. To tell you how well people love this vehicle, just do a search and see if you can find any used. At over 80,000 miles we've only changed shocks and tires. That's it. My wife loves this vehicle too. The newest one of this LTD version is going for over $45,000. If you can find a used, one, its going to be around $30,000. If you are lucky. The mileage of 28 mpg, means not only fuel savings but great range between fill ups, and most fill ups at these current prices, are barely over $20. Heated seats, power everything, moon roof, ability to tow up to 3500 lbs, AWD for the snow, and rain, what more can you ask for ? Also, its not bulky looking, and is very agile in city driving. Toyota built this thing bullet proof, and I'd expect easily to get 200,000 miles. Mileage will drop off in the winter a bit, but that's mostly if you are only doing short trips, and the engine has to warm up, to heat the interior. You are still getting way better fuel mileage than ANY SUV or VAN out there in the market place, bar none. And its just a comfortable comfortable ride. The vehicle still looks sharp, and not dated in styling at all, and in fact looks better than the new Highlanders coming out, that are bloated, and now bulky. This vehicle is a GEM, if you can find one.

Purchased w/ Nav, JBL system and rear seat DVD. For the price you would think you bought a Lexus, but overall very smooth, comfortable ride. Hybrid system is great, only 2 weeks old and getting 24mpg w/ mixed driving. Power tailgate is a nice feature along with the stow away middle seat. 3rd row isn't the best but certainly livable for adults for short durations. Fun to drive? Eh, it's a SUV/Crossover. How fun can it be? If I wanted spirited/fun driving, I would be in my '06 TL. Overall a very nice upgrade from our '01 Pathfinder LE.
