Used 2002 Toyota ECHO Consumer Reviews
My Echo
What can I say? I just love my Echo! I've never owned a car that I was so proud to drive, and this is just my third car in 25 years. I've had her 3 years now and every day still brings joy and excitement. Although I'm retired and don't put in the long miles, she still gets excellent mileage. I would highly recommend the Echo to anyone who wants a no-frills reliable, cute car. If I had to do it again, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I love this car so much my sister said my idea of Heaven would be to have only Echos up there. :)
SOLID CAR
NO PROBLEMS,GREAT GAS MILEAGE,INSTRUMENTS ARE WHERE THEY SHOULD BE,SOLID BUILD, THE CAR HAS A TENDANCY TO ROLL AROUND A BIT IN AN OFF CANTER TURN AT 100 MPH.BUT ITS SOMETHING YOU LEARN TO LIVE WITH.
Love the Echo!
I bought my Echo new in '02. I've had NO problems or repairs since I bought the car. My friends and family (all SUV owners) snickered when I originally bought the car. I'm the one laughing now with the gas mileage I get and with gas prices climbing to what they are. A great value in this car!
Great Commuter Car
I bought this car almost a year ago to commute back and forth to college. I am getting 37 mpg on average(not too bad). There has been no problems for the first 18500 miles. Acceleration with the 5 speed is suprisingly good. I put on aftermarket 16" TRD wheels with low profile tires. This helped the horrible handling a lot. Overall, great commuter.
OK Car
I bought this car mainly for its comfortable seating and of course for Toyota reliability. I like this car over all. But I am not very happy for the following reasons: Its low speed braking is good but at high speeds (say above 50 mph) its braking is very poor and I am much concerned to drive on highways. Especially for applying sudden brake. I never got gas mileage more than 33 mpg on highways. In the city I usually get about 28 mpg. So I am disappointed with its gas mileage.
