Taupe Convertible Top - Severe Issues
My 2008 Solara convertible top has begun to deteriorate and leak over these past two years -- while my neighbors' 2008 Solara convertible w/black canvas top is in almost brand new condition! We live in the same conditions (no garage, outdoor parking). She has no leaking, interior fine -- just wear/tear. I've met fellow Solara owner's in NC, FL and VA, and we all have the same issue w/our 2008 taupe convertible top. I would love to get a FREE replacement (in black) w/comp install from Toyota, but to no avail. I'm looking at paying up to $4000+ for replacement! And, my interior is messed up too! I don't know what to do and it just keeps getting worse. I bought a car cover for inclement weather, but it's hard to put on/off easily.

Not safe, not reliable, not a Toyota, but comforta
Bad- Undriveable on any sort of wet/noist road. You can't turn it because the wheels lock up and don't try braking hard when it's wet/moist. Visibility is pretty poor, and the mileage could be better. Very girly, I (young male) can't get out of it with any dignity. The exterior styling is like looking at a torn in half $100 bill... Leaves you with a terrible feeling! Good- It has a sublime ride, and the sound system is amazing. Almost every aspect of the interior is nice, especially the trunk space. With all this said, DONT BUY IT. The top dog German cars aren't unreliable. You'll be in the shop more with the solara, yet have all the drawbacks I said. It's just an unsafe, ugly, yet comfortable car. Don't get it
