Just purchased a 2025 4 runner sr5 , 3 weeks ago. Every day for the 1st 30 minutes of driving ,it sounds like it's a 10 year old car. Have reported to dealer and Toyota for them to tell me there is nothing they can do. They say Toyota uses 1type of brake pad only, and changing them won't help, if my husband uses after market ones that will void the warranty. Wil keep car one more month and if no recall is offered for this, then I'm trading cars. Never had this problem with a highlander I just traded in!! Not a happy client of Toyota at the moment.

So far I like the engine and feel it has enough power and gets good mpg for what it is. The styling is nice and I think the interior plastics will last a long time. For the price I think they should have included a larger infotainment screen. As another reviewer said, the worst thing about this vehicle is the ride quality. It is really awful. Rough everywhere. I can't imagine how this would ffeel off road. I think they made the shocks too stiff attempting to give this car like dynamics. I would sacrifice this for better bump absorption. Another minor gripe is the interior materials used around the rear liftgate. There is no protective plastic or rubber and it is easy to deform the lining when fitting large cargo. I think the overall theme of this vehicle is durabiltiy and this is a disappointing oversight.

Watch out for front spoiler / air dam detaching

Bought a 2025 SR5 in March. After roughly 4000 miles discovered the air dam was shredded due to driver and passenger side bolts falling out. This is a safety concern as detaching at highway speed could cause an accident. Dealership was reluctant to address but finally installed a new one on warranty after I pressed.
