Traded my 2020 4Runner Off-road Premium for new 2025 4Runner Sport Premium and best decision I made! Steering, ride, handling, all the safety features are so much better than my 2020. Gas mileage much better also. Love new interior with bigger infotainment system and especially love automatic lift gate! Looks great, drives great and thrilled with it!

I traded my 2022 4-Runner for the 2025. Never in my wildest imagination did I think they could ruin cargo, but They Did!!!! I drove the car. The sales person didn't show the fold down cargo, and I didn't ask ...because I didn't think they could RUIN CARGO! I'm an animal rescue. Daily I haul wire crates and carriers. I use cargo daily. I did tell the sales person that. My 2022 had too many miles and need to be traded. A few days after purchase, I popped the seat down to load a few crates. To my surprise, the folded seat created a platform within cargo. Anything placed on it would tumble with braking or acceleration. I then rolled the seats creating the platform forward into the floor area. The seats are so thick they created two things: 1) a barrier so tall that a person in the front cannot reach over and get anything out of the cargo area. You couldn't even get a water bottle out of a cooler! 2) When the seats folded down fully, they are so deep half the door is blocked creating limited space to load anything from the side door. This is the poorest design of a 4-Runner. The traditional 4-Runner customer that has enjoyed the last few years will not like this change. There will be problems loading a kayak, furniture, or anything needing a full flat surface. I also found the screen so large it was a distraction for driving. The 2025 did not feel as strong as my 2022. I purchased it Friday, July 11, and traded it back Saturday July 19. The problem with cargo was too great to keep this car the two-to-three years I would normally drive a car. It was traded for a 2024 low-mileage 4-Runner lease someone turned back. Buyer beware, and check cargo before purchasing this car. If cargo is important to you, this is not your car.

Disappointed 2025 Toyota 4 Runner Limited

2025 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4dr SUV 4WD (2.4L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 8A)

I do not like the engine/transmission with the 2.4 L Turbo hybrid engine. Initial acceleration is jumpy with a hard noticeable shift of gears with acceleration. I want my 6 cylinder back. The engine was quieter and the shifting gears were smoother. The seats in the older 4 runners were more comfortable. The interior quality now is just average with the exception of the large infotainment screen. If I had been able to test drive this more I would have kept my previous vehicle. I do not think it is worth $64,000.

2025 Platinum in Heritage Blue

2025 Toyota 4Runner Platinum 4dr SUV 4WD (2.4L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 8A)

Yes, it costs a lot of money for a 4Runner. However, it is the most potent and luxurious 4Runner ever built on the assembly line. I've had several 4Runners since 1988, and I have always loved the 4Runner style. I traded in my 2020 Limited Nightshade because I did not like the 20" wheel limited to a 245. The new Platinum remedies that with the 20" wheel with a 265 and lots of room. I also didn't have blind spot monitors in the 2020. The upgrade in all tech and safety features is stunning. The handling, the sporty, refined look, the dark blue seats, and on and on. Best 4Runner I have ever owned, and I loved that 88', and loved the 04' with the V8. But, this 2025 Platinum is the best I've been in.

ORP Hybrid

Have 1700 miles so far on a 2025 ORP hybrid. I went back and forth between this 4Runner and a Land Cruiser. The land cruiser was nice , but I found I liked the ride of the 4Runner better. It felt more planted on the road, while the Land Cruiser was more floaty. I find the seats in the 4Runner very comfortable on long drives , and the hybrid power to be plenty , even in the mountains or steep hills.
