A Great Choice!!

After driving this for three weeks, I'm am soooo happy that I purchased this vehicle. Smooth and comfortable ride for an SUV. The V6 provides plenty of power and the gas mileage is better than I expected. Plenty of leg room for both the front and back seats (I'm 6'5"), though the headroom could be a tiny bit higher. Quiet ride and responsive steering. Easy access to all instrument controls. This is the first imported car I've ever owned and I should have gone import many years sooner. My 2000 Ford Explorer was a headache from day one! Other than buying a Corvette in the future, I'll never buy American again. Toyota will have a customer for life!

I bought this 2006 in fall of 2008 with 29K on it. I've added 130K since and it has been fantastic! Oil, gas, brakes, battery and fluids is all I've ever had to do. I worried that I should have sprung for the V8, but I cannot think of any time I've driven it where I felt it was under-powered. I tow a boat with it every weekend and it acts like it isn't even there. The only problem I ever had with it is in early 2016 the rear window defroster shorted out and caused the rear glass to shatter. Cost about $500 to fix it. BUT - In March of 2017, Toyota sent me a letter saying they'd heard reports of this and even though my car was almost 130K miles beyond warranty, they were willing to reimburse me for the repair!! Name me ANY other company that would do that?? I'd love to get a new 4Runner, but I am not a fan of the boxy head and tail lamps they've had since 2010. C'mon Toyota, do another refresh and get those lamps flush again and I'll buy one!

Couldn't be better!

This car is amazing! Smooth rides, great handling, an all-a-round do everything car. Towing is exceptional (towed a 6x12 trailer for 2000 miles and didn't even notice it). Off road would be fun, but my wife won't let me take her car off road. I want another for myself. One person said the low-preasure light for the tire comes on. I found it to be the spare tire. All the other tires get checked and the spare gets forgotten. Toyota even has a sensor on the spare... way cool, but don't forget it or the light will bug you.

Great SUV

I just traded my 2006 4Runner that I bought new so I figured I had plenty of experience to leave a useful review having driven it 85,000 miles during that time. It was a great car. I only had to perform routine maintenance during the 5 years which was great. I just felt like we had outgrown this car with 2 small kids so I traded it in on a Buick Enclave. My husband had a 1997 4Runner prior to this one and we traded it in with 200k miles on it and he had no troubles with that one either. You can't go wrong with the 4Runner.

Fun to drive, fairly smooth ride and goes through the snow with no problems, the heated leather seats are nice in the Nebraska climate. The V8 has plenty of power
