Luxury Go Kart
I only test drove this car to get it off my list when I saw one for sale at a great price. I figured I needed to drive it and not just ignore it out of hand. So I drove it and it was unlike anything else I have ever driven. I left the dealership shaking a bit, dying to get back behind the wheel again. Then I went back and bought it immediately like a child who just had to have a toy, even though I live in an apartment and can only charge it on 120v Living with it is a different story as you have to plan ahead for charging, etc. but I don't find the range to be too limiting - I love the performance and luxury and technology and so far it has been reliable and delightful to own. I could live in the seats. The hatchback is enormous, big enough to camp out in and in fact there's a 'camp mode' option for that which will keep your cabin temperature so you can use it as a tent. It's all wheel drive, sticks to the road like glue in the wet and rain even with A/S tires. The giant 'yacht floor' without a center console seems to have been a showy way to say 'look - there's no drivetrain hump' but it seems they could have given us an even bigger center console with that missing hump - rather we get NO center console until later years of this model. Most 2015's obtained privately will have free supercharging, so that's nice. Tesla disables this feature if you buy through them. Time will tell if I end up having service issues but so far at 90k miles it's in excellent condition.

My Tesla S was shutting down on freeway suddenly!!
Last Wednesday when I was driving on free way I -8 E , my car was shutting down with notice and after I just poll out my car on the divider area then all power was off without any power to open truck or a/c but my car had 145 miles to go. I had to call road emergency to toll my car to Tesla service center to fix the problem. It’s a safety hazard to people why Tesla didn’t recall the car? I took pictures about the issue, where can I upload my photos? Thanks!

Joy of driving
The Tesla S is a great driving experience. I have no plans to drive a gas car again. Instant acceleration at any speed... Suddenly notice your freeway exit from the fast lane? Zoom... no problem. Plug it in like an iPhone when you get home from work, ready to go in the morning. Only about $11 to go the same distance around town as $60 in a gas car. The supercharger infrastructure makes it easy to go cross-country. We've taken it L.A. to Denver three times. Plug in, have lunch, it's ready to go when you're done with lunch. Love adaptive cruise control that pays attention to the car in front of you... it's especially nice for taking the stress out of bumper-to-bumper slow traffic. Cruise control and autosteer are nice for the open highway, but I don't recommend for chaotic city freeways... too many drivers make unexpected moves. My next car will be another Tesla S... with more range. The 2015 netted me about 185 miles of range taking air conditioning, hills, and headwinds into account. The newer models are getting nearly 400 miles of range. I'm keeping this one for a few more years...I'm grandfathered in for free supercharging as long as I have it.
