Got my Outback a couple weeks ago. It had been on order for four weeks. Apparently SOA will not be manufacturing/shipping manual transmissions unless there has been a high demand in an area. Only found one dealer located 300 miles away willing to order vehicle. Would have liked to have gotten the bigger engine, but not offered with manual. This is my fourth Outback. It is a BIG car. Handles great. Quiet on hgwy. Mileage around 25. Rear hatch difficult to close. Hidden radio antenna, which causes poor reception. Clock/temp readouts recessed near windshield. Hard to read. MPG gauge worthless. Even with it's quirks, great vehicle.

This new Outback has a ton more room than the previous model, rear seat and cargo room are great! The ride, smoothness, and quietness, are very impressive. Very solid feeling, no rattles or issues so far. The quality look and feel of the interior is excellent, very thick and padded carpet is a nice touch. Seems like a very good price/value for all that you are getting in this all-new Outback.

Car drives and handles great. We have had it in the snow this year and drove like dry pavement. Have used the roof racks with our tandem ocean kayak and they work great-very beefy. Ya our old Thule's won't work, but I stopped sniveling when the road noise went away and got better mpg when not in use. Overall great car.

After multiple 15+ inch storms the Subaru really earned its keep. The new interior size is a plus; I'm not a fan of the exterior design with the "lifted" look but it proved critical to getting through the deepest snow and a 700 foot long driveway. Very nice and competent in all weather. Wife said last week she can't imagine being happier with a car after several Europeans. Performance is leisurely if you're used to 300 HP family vehicles. Get the 6 if you want more power. The car keeps revealing how well thought out it is, like the way a downshift blip on the paddles will have the trans. simulate a downshift and will hold that gear downhill and return to normal full-auto operation.

I didn't think any car would seem better to me than my 2006 Forester 2.5XT (which I'm keeping). We drove the 2010 Outback thinking maybe next year for my husband - and decided we had to have it now. I am so jealous. My only complaints - I like oil and temp gauges - not idiot lights; and no ashtray available is just silly. Love the CVT - this will give us great mileage and it has as much giddy-up as our Turbo - handy for merging on our interstates. Wonderfully smooth, quiet. Paddles for downshifting will be great in the mountains. The re-design is complete - looks nothing like 2009 Outback - way bigger inside. Wish I could afford two.
