2010 Outback

Wow! Subaru is getting it right. Great mileage, 23 city, over 30 highway and huge gas tank 18.5 gal. equals a 450 mile range. High quality interior--seats in both front and rear incredibly comfortable. Roof rack is ingenious and will be copied quickly by all other brands. CVT takes getting used too, but it does succeed in keeping engine revolutions very low and that's how SOA is getting the great MPG. Navigation system with Ipod, bluetooth and satellite radio works great--as good as Ford Sync. Great navigation screen--as good as Acura, Cadillac and Lexus. Very quiet interior--a new breakthrough for SOA. SOA sales are up 34% for the last twelve months. This car will sell very well!

After owning Honda's for 23 years I decided to to purchase something else. What a difference in quietness. I feel like I'm driving a Lexus. Paddle shifters are great for mountain driving and the boxer engine has good power while providing good MPG. CVT Trans is smooth but takes a while to get use to if you have never driven one. Overall one of the best if not the best values in it's class for your hard earned money.

Our 2010 model is our 3rd Outback. Have owned a '97, 2007 turbo and now the 2010. Previous Outback models have been fantastic and suspect the 2010 will be also. All have been incredible vehicles! Very dependable, inexpensive to own and a real joy to drive! We LOVE our Subarus!!! Everyone should have at least one of these vehicles!

Big Inside and Almost a Turbo

Living in the Rockies at 9100' I was looking for a replacement for my '06 Outback XT. I wanted enough power to accelerate uphill at altitude and the supposed improved fuel economy and use of regular fuel were certainly an appeal. So I drove the 2.5i w/ CVT and found it to be almost as powerful as the turbo and when using the paddle shifters, quite fun to drive. I've now owned it for a month and am mostly satisfied w/ a few exceptions. Build quality doesn't seem as good as previous Subys-seems like some rattles that shouldn't be there. The ride is lots more spongy and soft. Lack of temp gauge bad idea. Interior comfort is great-I'm 6'3" and have lots of legroom-almost like a European car.

I Just Like It

Traded a 1997 Ford Explorer for this 2.5i Outback Limited. Had owned a new 1980 Subaru hatchback and thought of Subaru's as small cars. Surprise! Overall the 2010 Outback is as big as the '97 Explorer. Some dimensions are bigger, some smaller, but overall it's about the same size. It's very comfortable, quiet, and a pleasure to drive. Took a 350 mile round trip last Saturday, through very hilly country, and averaged 31.5 mpg. Yes I drove conservatively, 55 to 60 mph mostly (hit 70 only once). I am more enthusiastic about this car than any car I've bought since my Mercur XR4TI. Subaru, you really got it right with this one.
