This is my 3rd Outback. Test drove both the 4 & 6 cyl limited 3 times each before deciding on the 4. After 1 month & 800 miles this one is proving to be the best. On a recent Fall weekend we drove this beauty through a field & into an orchard for some apple picking with nary a shake, rattle or roll. From there we headed to one of our hilly State Parks to view the foliage & take in a picnic. We turned down the windows, opened the moon roof & inserted a favorite CD into the radio. I switched the CVT into the Manual Mode & up & down shifted throughout the park using the paddle shifters. What a Blast!

No, I'm not talking about McDonald's. Just got the new 2010 redesigned outback and couldn't be happier. Thought I might miss the shift feeling, but instead the CVT is much better as you're not trying to anticipate the jerking when the car shifts, especially when accelerating up a hill. Love the new more rugged body style and updated interior. Not often when a car is able to get bigger, faster, smoother and at the same time 3mpg better gas mileage. After 70 miles already averaging 25.5mpg with 50/50 city/highway. Can't believe how smooth the ride is, feels like a much higher end car. The last Subaru I owned was back in 93, and I must say it's been too long!

We've had our Outback almost 2 weeks now and we are delighted with it. It is so much better than I remembered our test drive car ever being. I have owned 7 new cars in my 45 years of driving and this is clearly the best of them all including our 2000 Outback. We love the versatility the Outback provides. It can haul a fair amount of stuff and it can transport 5 in comfort and quiet. It gets reasonably good gas mileage; we got 24.8 mpg in mixed city and freeway driving on the first tank. The build quality is the best I've seen in any new car.

We've had the car about 3 weeks & took it on a 900 mile road trip last week. Got 29.5 MPG at 65 MPH. Smooth, quiet ride on most roads. Enough power to pass, go up hills, etc. Very comfortable driver's seat & good in rear. Good visibility front & sides, not so good to rear. We got a backup camera, so this helps greatly. Great looking interior. Great fit & finish. On the downside, over assisted steering at highway speeds. Front passenger's seat cannot be adjusted for height.

First time Subaru buyer. Attracted to Outback by its upscale and well executed look, and 4WD reputation. Stable and comfortable road manners. Well controlled noise levels at speed. Looking forward to driving this puppy up mountains and through snow this winter. Harmon/Kardon stereo puts out great sound from CD, but strangely weak and tinny FM sound. Car still in break-in period. Expecting performance to improve.
